Loudly claim to be gay. They’ll back off in a hurry.

Hugging a “Best Friend”, even in a non-sexual manner, is a strong indication of a special attachment to that person. That is favoritism, and is unacceptable in the collective. /s

“zero tolerance” just means that no one wants to take responsibility for making a decision about what is acceptable or not out of fear of being sued.

Blame lawyers.

The last time I was in a classroom, for the first time in my teaching career after retirement, I took a job for fun teaching computer skills in the lab for K-6 kids. I was appalled to read in the teacher’s handbook these instructions under standards of conduct:

*Do not put your hands on the children, even to help adjust their clothes, get another child to help them
*Do not hug or pat on the head for good work
*At all times keep your voice even and calm and never raise it above normal tone

And on and on...people are so greedy for a $ that the schools are totally paranoid of a lawsuit.

Oh, calm down, guys. I went to high school in Phoenix when Senator Goldwater was in office, and Phoenix was a hotbed of Conservatism. The entire high school system had a no-on-campus-affection policy. Sooo, all of you freepers hot and bothered here and demanding the right to hug a girl because of your own gay panic, settle down. Call your counselors TODAY and make an appointment.

Once again we pause to pay homage to Common Sense and mourn his passing many years ago.

PDA rules obviously have a purpose and a place in public education, but zero tolerance removes the possibility of Common Sense rising from the grave to pass judgment.

The above story is not the worst example. Some years ago a university professor was observed hugging a female student by a zealous radical feminist who brought him up on charges of sexual harassment. The investigation revealed that the “victim” of the hug had just told the professor that her father had died. He was consoling her.

Loudly claim to be gay. They’ll back off in a hurry.

Sadly, that's actually pretty good advice in this day & age.

And what's wrong with that?
You think it's okay for some faggot teacher to be "adjusting" the kids clothes all the time?
It's probably the same BS excuse the homo-priests used on young altar boys.

The foregoing in sharp contrast to what went on in public elementary schools in the '40s in Chicago: slamming a book over head of a student caught talking in class (sometimes a ruler); being grabbed by the ear or under the chin and slammed into blackboard (they really were black in those days), usually reserved for boys; washing out mouth with soap for "bad words."

Public schools - when you want strict standards for trivia, but no standards for knowledge.

Sir, I taught the many years without those instructions. And I patted the many children on the back when they did good work. And when the children needed help with a button I helped them, and taught them how to button it themselves. Not one child suffered for it.

Are you the kind of person that doesn’t go up to the school and check out whether some f****t is teaching your child, and know that you can request a different teacher? Do you never spend time with your children’s teacher so you know you can trust them with your child for 8 hours a day?

This is not the 1940’s. And I never saw a teacher treat a child with disrespect all the years I was in school. I did see one teacher slap a child who told her ‘F’ You’, and thought they deserved it since all she said to him was Please sit down.

Maybe I’m just glad I never went to school in the Chicago ghettos. They tend to treat everybody there with mob rule.

You obviously are much younger than I and, right, this is not the '40s. This school was James G. Blaine School (he was a Republican candidate for president in the late 19th century) located in a middle class neighborhood on the near North side in Chicago (near Wrigley Field). It was not the ghetto. The Chicago of the 1940s was much different ethnically than it is today. And corporal punishment in public schools did exist at that time. Old timers will remember.

Well, that’s a shame, but it still has no relation to what I originally posted. When old Al Capone and the City Outfit was running Chicago, I guess it was a kinder gentler Chicago, then.

Thanks for the ping and another laugh at the lack of sense we are all faced with each day!
