As for me, I may forgo watching the debate entirely since the libtard moderators, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos, will pose ridiculous questions, stifling any chance for the actual issues to be discussed. At best I may record the debate so that I can fast-forward past these two vile individuals.

The Caine Mutiny> is a classic film that has altered our lexicon with phrases such as "...steaming around in circles..." and "Ahh, but the strawberries...". And of course, this too:

How ironic that they are showing the Caine Mutiny after the start of the example of the Cain candidacy assassination.

Terrific movie! My favorite is Fred MacMurray, that cowardly yellow-stain blues of a fink!

It’s Christmas. Why is the Caine Mutiny being aired anyway? I’ve got 250 channels and I can’t find one Christmas movie.
What’s wrong with these people anyway? Let’s try:

The Bells of St. Mary’s
White Christmas
Holiday Inn
A Christmas Carol (the original version with Reginald Owen)
It’s A Wonderful Life

In the film, Fred MacMurray reveals his considerable acting skills which those who have seen him only on "My Three Sons" may not know.

I'm also in the camp believing The Caine Mutiny would be more compelling had it been shot in black and white. The story is the centerpiece and I find the lavish technicolor presentation detracts from the starkness of the drama. I think, for example, that To Kill a Mockingbird would have suffered had it been in color. IMHO. YMMV.

Black and white. I’ve never thought about it, but you’re right. Just think of the tension in the scene on the bridge in the hurricane, Wow.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not a Luddite when it comes to color in film. Lawrence of Arabia with its breathtaking scenes (and sweeping music score) is a film that has to be in widescreen color. A black and white presentation would made it something other than the classic it's become.

There were some colorized versions of It's a Wonderful Life that have (hopefully) been destroyed. As uplifting as that story is, much of it is a dark film. The colorized versions turned it into fluffy, cotton candy piece.

I didn’t even know there was a Republican debate on ABC tonight.

Another one?

After pukes like Sawyers and Stephanoupolous(sp) as moderators, they’re complaining about Trump?

Hah!

Well said. I am of the opinion that MacMurray is/was one of the most under-rated actors of all time. He could play heavy drama (Caine Mutiny, Double Indemnity, The Apartment) just as easily as comedy (The Egg and I, etc.). Just an amazing talent.

Btw, interestingly (or not): When MacMurray agreed to do My Three Sons, it was with the stipulation that he would should an entire season's worth of scenes up front, rather than ep by ep. That way, he could return home to Florida for the rest of the year instead of staying in Hollywood. The rest of the scenes in each episode were shot later on the regular schedule.

It is a great movie, but Robert Francis is the second worst actor in Hollywood history. The worst is the lead in Scanners

Can’t stand watching anything on AMC. Too butchered to insert advertising.

"black and white"

I love to watch early thirties movies virtually all of which are black and white. In fact, up to the thirties only a few films had been made in color. None of the big successes of the early thirties were made in color, and the big color hits of the thirties like Robin Hood, GWTW, Snow White, and the Wizard of Oz came in the late thirties. Why black and white is so attractive over color for certain movies is a mystery to me, but you're correct.
