I know there are profanity filters on "letters to the editors" sites, but this is ridiculous. The Everett Herald (a Washington state newspaper) has software that actually replaced the word "chink" with asterisks when I entered the Merriam-Webster definition. The ESPN writer probably stepped in it with his double entendre, but it's just a word, people. With legitimate meanings.
Log home builders are going to have to find a politically correct word to replace the word, “chinking.”
So will armor makers.
Remember Whitey on the old LEAVE IT TO BEAVER SHOW? Poor kid was scarred for life. Everywhere he went, “Hey Whitey!”. I think he died of a light overdose in a tanning booth.
When you say "we", I'm assuming you have a mouse in your pocket and you're both the target for a ZOT!
The mouse was in my pocket, but went shooting off at amazing speed shouting "andale, arriba, arriba!"
This is my first vanity. Please be unkind, or I won't know if I'm doing it right.

With the effective productivity in Messico dropping as it is, soon the Messicans will be fighting for jobs stuffing openings between logs.
Whether such a structure would be considered for human occupancy is debatable.
I once tried to post a comment somewhere about the singer Bruce Cockburn.
It came out Bruce ****burn.
boogerboogerboogerboogerbooger!
well, in fairness to our AsianAmerican friends, most of whom are hard working diligent folk, I would have to say that Asians in this country have long been the silent minority. They withstand, without much complaint, frequent jokes by comedians and comedy shows, and whereas you can’t say even the slightest remotest slur about Blacks, or else you get fired.
It is a vicious double standard. “Chink” is right up there with the N-word, and while it may be a “real” word, I have to agree wit espn firing the staff at such offense.
But, then, if you want to avoid hypocrisy, then you have to protest all of those who say that words like boy, articulate, clean, black hole, watermelon, fried chicken, waffles, “you lie”...are all racist.
You're doing it perfectly. If you post a vanity and you don't get threatened with a zot or scorned in some way, then your subject wasn't important enough for a vanity.
On the other hand, if you get zotted, you went to far.
Proper vanities bring to mind the famous Bogart quote from "The Maltese Falcon":
Sam Spade: Then the trick from my angle is to make my play strong enough to tie you up, but not make you mad enough to bump me off against your better judgment."
Kasper Gutman: "By gad, sir, you are a character."
That's the world of Free Republic vanities. If you want a friend, get a dog.
