Santorum Another Trifecta in OK,TN, and ND. Ohio Too Close To Call {Should Gingrich Withdraw?]
March 06, 2012

Posted on 03/06/2012 7:21:08 PM PST by Steelfish

Gingrich must steps aside. His “southern strategy” is up in flames placing distant third and fourth in key states.

Working Women. This is a key demographic that Romney leads Santorum followed by a deficit of 11 points, and Gingrich is well way behind by 31 points and is one major reason why Gingrich can neither win the nomination nor the presidency.

Gingrich was the big spoiler in MI where Santorum lost by just three points. Besides the notion of “permanent moon-based colonies” and pie-in-the-sky $2.50 gas/gallon regardless of world energy markets or geopolitical conditions is simply risible and won’t play well with voters. Note, that Gingrich couldn’t even get the 50% threshold in home-state GA whereas Romney got a whopping 72% in MA.

If Santorum loses OH, we can attribute this to a divided conservative vote. The big city areas in OH have not yet been counted. Karl Rove thinks that when these county results come in, Romney will have won OH. He (unfortunately) may just be right.

Santorum has won IA; MN; CO; MO; and ND. Today, Santroum has notched up another trifecta: OK, TN, and ND. He came within a whisker of beating Romney in MI, and while he may lose OH it will be only by a coupe of points and Gingrich’s 15% would a major factor that explains this fact.

He can’t and won’t win the southern states. Talk about people being delusional - good grief.

Santo will only get us a Dem back in the Whitehouse and dems back in the Senate and House in 2016 provided he could even win the election. Yes. Really.

Sorry, but if Gingrich drops out, I have no acceptable choices left. If this is not how the American Story is to end, then we are heading toward a national disaster of the most profound kind, a righting of course that won’t be electoral in nature.

Exactly.

Good heavens Romney is leading Santorum by 1% of the vote in OH and some here are in denial, like they were in MI, that a Romney win in OH where he outspent Santorum by 5 to 1, is due EXCLUSIVELY because of Gingrich’s presence. This is a catastrophe fueled by one’ man’s ego to insure that he shares the spotlight. We began here “Le Resistance” to Romney, and Gingrich is acting like the fifth columnist, splitting the conservative vote, and allowing Romney to sneak through the breach.

Newt is my first choice, Rick my second, Paul my third and Mitt my forth. At his point Newt should back away and let Rick take out Mitt. The women will not vote for Newt, our loss but that is the sad fact.

Pray for America

Yes. Really.

In your fevered imagination.

Fortunately reality doesn't in any way resemble what you perceive it to be.

Yep. He’s a selfish self-serving so and so. He’ll take us all down with him just to prove a point. Been saying from the star he’s amoral.

Are you smoking crack?

To somehow lump Santorum in with Romney is bad enough, to lump him in with Obama is insane!

Santorum is and always has been a reliable CATHOLIC Conservative. That means he is much more conservative on social issues like Life and faith and somewhat less so on welfare and social services. He is however a relatively strong fiscal conservative with very few blemishes on his record for a long term Senator in a leadership position.

Anybody in congress can have a down the line Conservative rating if they are not in a leadership position, look at the lunatic Ron Paul. If you aspire to leadership and want to get things done you have to work within the system. Gingrich had to do it, Santorum had to do it, and The SCUMBAG Romney cherry picks small worthless votes and beets them both over the head with them.

NO!

Newt is the only one who grasps all of the issues and thinks fast enough on his feet to be able to offset the fact that hussein will be given the debate questions ahead of time.

Neither Romney nor Santorum are mean enough to lead us now. Should one of them somehow beat hussein, they will out do Bush when it comes to turning the other cheek until the media has destroyed their ability to lead.

You aren’t facing the realities. Gingrich is now playing ASSIST to Romney. He did so in MI and now in OH. If Romney is whom you want, then say so.

I guess we should expect more of this as it becomes clear Santorum is the only alternative to Romney.

Hate to see so many here threatening to cut their nose off to spite their face, though. Its not the time to be pitching fits.
