Too much soap opera and too little adventure.
bump
too much talk and not enough action
far too expensive for its ratings too
Yow. In their efforts to suck up to Spielberg, the NYTimes told some whoppers. “Several” TV successes? Spielberg’s TV money earners include “ER,” “Animaniacs,” Pinky and the Brain” — and that’s it.
Band of Brothers was awesome but has yet to earn out on DVD sales. The Pacific stank, got no ratings, and will never earn out. Falling Skies counts as a cable drama with decent ratings but hardly a monster hit.
“United States of Tara,” anyone? “High Incident?”
best news all day! LOL anytime a libs show get canned it is a good thing!
The first few episodes of The River were okay, but it's out of gas already.
Thank God. It was a crap show.
I saw this coming at the beginning of the series.
The show was slow, boring, suffered from shallow character development, and was nothing but a filler until the good shows came on...I won’t even get into their bad parts.
huh. I’m a little puzzled by the responses so far. I liked it. I’m disappointed that it won’t be coming back.
My boy loved this show. Being on Fox, it was destined to be short lived.
Hopefully that insidious show GCB, will follow right behind it.
It's like they went out of their way to make this a miserable series. There's so many heroic stories that could have been worked into this series. They could have made it far more inspirational. Instead it was so bad I don't think I could be compelled to watch it ever again.
I liked it too....I don't get why folks here are happy it's off the air, they're not being forced to watch it.
