I can tell that Freerepublic has started spiraling into hysteria similar to what I sensed around the 2008 election time.... I'll check back in in 2013 to see if things simmered down.

Why do you feel the need to announce this?? Plenty of us have taken a break from FR and not felt the need to do the “look at me! look at me! look at me!”. You disagree with the way things are done. I’m sure we all have at some time or other.

Before I lost my husband we ran several businesses with other family members. We all had our greiviances and none to quite about them....but nobody ever Questioned who was the man at the top, my husbands Father. And the buck always stopped with him.
FR reminds me of those 'family" disputes......we fight and bicker ,with passion, like an old Italian family.....but we know and respect the decisions of the Top Man...if or not one agrees, well he IS the Top Dog who started it all... And we've all gained from being here.

Free Republic is not a regime.
I understand your sentiments. Emotions are running high at the moment. That’s not a bad thing. We scream at one another online in this millenium where 200 years ago they railed in the pubs and in the public square.
All this is in the run-up to the fall elections following a contentious primary season. I say again, emotions are running high.
If I see people being banned for simply stating their opinions, even in an intemperate manner with high emotion, then it will be time to consider leaving this forum. Let that not be so.

Please have the common courtesy to us paragraphs. If makes the reading more endurable. And while ranting some ALL caps is unavoidable it deludes the specialness of your main points if the whole thing is CAPS. Remember that spelling and grammar errors will be pointed out with derision while flaming.
