The NAACP Washington Bureau has produced an annual Civil Rights Legislative Report Card since 1914. This resource is designed to provide NAACP members with insight into the general voting patterns of their congressional representatives over the course of the year. The NAACP Civil Rights Legislative Report Card demonstrates how every Member of Congress voted on the bread and butter civil rights issues and priorities important to the NAACP.

Who are they kidding. They didn’t even bother checking their actual voting records. They started with a list of 535 people, put F’s next to all the republicans, then worked through the democrats from there. These ratings are to intimidate democrats, not republicans, who blacks never vote for anyway.

Most of these bills don't have anything to do with race as such. They're either laws affecting labor unions, or government provision of birth control or pollution and greenhouse gases or the budget or confirmation of Obama nominees.

If the NAACP had to go to those topics to come up with their key votes it's a sign that racially, the country is in better shape racially than they claim. That cuts the other way as well though: if so much of what concerns the NAACP has little to do with race, maybe the charge that they're "racist" should be re-examined as well.

It looks like they're another liberal Democratic pressure group that follows the party line. And excessively* so, some of those GOP Congressmen who agreed with them on as many as 6 votes out of 20 still got "F's." Electing Democrats is more important to the association than even inducing Republicans to vote on the issues that they claim are important.

It's funny though. I doubt there was ever a bill entitled "MEAN-SPIRITED, DRACONIAN BUDGET RESOLUTION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012." If there was, how could anybody vote against it?

Does this mean Rep West(R) & Rep Scott(R) failed the NAACP litmus test?

Are they Racists?

Maybe they are just “uppity Negroes” who have been freed from the Democrat plantation and are now Free MEN!

Can’t have them thinking for themselves. /s

But..but...since the NAACP believes so firmly in racist Affirmative Action policies, does that mean minority GOPers like West, Scott, Rubio and others, despite getting an F, automatically get accepted into NAACP good favor?

I've just decided to change my middle name to “Racist” so there’ll be no uncertainty in the future.

Don't you remember Harry Belefonte (whose claim to fame was a song about counting bananas) referred to Secretary of State Colin Powell as W's "house negro"?
