A worker at a Capitol Hill pizzeria caught in a dough machine Tuesday was rescued by Seattle firefighters.
At 2:54 p.m., firefighters were called Toscana Pizzeria in the 600 block of Summit Avenue East after a man in his 30s got his hand caught in a dough-making machine there.
Firefighters worked for 15 minutes to disassemble the machine and free the man, a Fire Department spokesman said in a statement.
The man suffered serious injuries to his hand and fingers. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
I’ve seen those dough mixers in action and I wouldn’t wish this type of accident upon anyone. Hope he’ll be okay.
Did somebody say "free pizza"?
That’s exactly what I first thought when I read the headline. I figured they left out an article or a preposition somewhere.
"DOUGH!"
Ditto to that. Hope the surgeons can repair and restore his hand.
Oh gosh! I opened this trying to figure out 1) why the fire dept was needed to separate two machines and 2) how the two machines got stuck together in the first place. I didn’t realize by pizza maker they meant person. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family and friends.
