"I feel that I no longer wish to support your presidential campaign and ask that you please return the maximum contribution that I gave to you last year," Bill White wrote in a letter addressed to the former Massachusetts governor and obtained by CNN.

"You have chosen to be on the wrong side of history and I do not support your run for president any longer," White added.

The embryonic stages of a meme. This is the second time I've heard 'on the wrong side of history', concerning gay marriage (Shephard Smith said it last week).

How can Romney be on the wrong side of history on gay marriage, when Obama and Romney are on the same side on the issue?

I have a general question about all of this: If Gays were allowed to marry:
If people who are not married at all but just enjoy masturbating... Could they not make a case that they should be allowed to file their taxes as Married filing jointly in order to receive better tax deductions and exemptions, since the only thing that determines their tax status is their sexual preference?

Bill White should get these while they're hot. He'll need them fairly soon.

One less socialist pervert for Mitt—every little bit helps I suppose but if he doesn't ask Palin to be his Veep he still won't go far.

We’re supposed to care because CNN makes a big deal of this. Romney should stay the course. If he waffles on gay marriage, the only beneficiary will be Obama. The gay marriage issue is working in Romney’s favor.

All planned in advance... not unlike the seminar caller on Rush.

I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

The meme is that liberal lite doesn’t sell. Everyone who might have voted liberal lite always goes for full liberal in the end. Hence why anyone who voted for Romney in the primary thinking he could win the general election is an idiot.

As for being on the wrong side of history, is homosexuality something new? Last I checked there are references to it throughout history. I’m not sure why Shep thinks an ancient practice seen in primitive societies and usually condemned has anything to do with moving into the 21st century. Same goes for bestiality.

You’re probably right.

Is this “the” William Howard “Bill” White (born June 16, 1954) who is an American politician, member of the Democratic Party, and former mayor of Houston, and was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2010 Texas gubernatorial election, losing to incumbent Republican Rick Perry. Before serving as mayor, White was a lawyer and businessman, and served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1995. White is on the membership roster of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Smells like a setup to me!

“We’re supposed to care because CNN makes a big deal of this”

No, I don’t care that in all the land, CNN was able to fine only one donor, who turned on Romney.

I’m just interested in the pattern recognition...and I think ‘the war on women’ is about to be usurped by ‘on the wrong side of history’...and we’ll have a new phoney baloney slogan every few weeks, until the election.

And if there are Obama supporters who have pulled their support and gone over to Romney (a statistical likelihood), what are the chances we’ll ever hear about it?

Yes, they should get to declare their genitals as a dependent since they were born “monosexuals.”
