From today’s Desert Sun (Palm Springs) internet site:
A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded Tuesday morning near the U.S.-Mexico border in Southern California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The magnitude was initially reported as 4.4 but revised to 4.0 within minutes.
The quake, centered 12 miles west of Calexico, was recorded at 8:06 a.m., according to USGS.
