GT'er 23Skidoo Needs Prayers (Glocktalk)

He's had another stroke, his second in 2 years. This one sounds even worse than the first, from what his sister-in-law has said so far. This is what she posted initially, on 7/31
"I AM ASKING FOR PRAYERS FOR MY BROTHER-N-LAW. HE HAS HAD ANOTHER STROKE THIS MORNING AND AS OF RIGHT NOW THINGS DON'T LOOK VERY GOOD. SO PLEASE ASK GOD TO HELP HIM RECOVER."
And this is the update she gave me later,
"LONE UPDATE.....HE HASN'T WOKE UP YET BUT WHEN I GOT UP THERE I STARTED I STARTED PESTERING HIM TO WAKE UP AND HE DID OPEN HIS EYES BUT ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS. HE IS MOVING BOTH LEGS AND BOTH ARMS. HE JUST WON'T WAKE UP YET. THE BLEED IN THE BRAIN IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE THIS TIME. THIS STROKE CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. THANK GOD HIS SISTER WAS THERE TO CALL 911 AND GET HIM TO THE HOSPITAL. I'LL TALK TO YOU TOMORROW AFTER I GET BACK FROM HOSPITAL AND GIVE YOU AN UPDATE"
Please send up prayers, mojo, good thoughts, etc for one of our own who needs it right now. Skidoo is a great guy and a good friend to many.
ETA: Here's the sad update from his sister as of this afternoon, (a few days ago)
"To friends and family. He had another stroke,on Sunday morning. He has lost his ability to speak and to swallow. He has directives that do not allow a feeding tube, ventilator, etc. Since he can't swallow his saliva is collecting in his lungs and he will get phenumonia. He can still communicate with thumbs up and down and he has chosen to go to Hubbard Hospice House to die. They say it will be about ten days. Please pray for God to comfort him and make this journey go as painlessly as possible.:
Then, another update...My friend Lone_Wolfe (who was shot in theater, survived against all odds and is now struggling with cancer) flew to be with him and he changed his mind and wants to fight to live. Wolfe called the police when he had the last stroke. She hadn't heard from him in a few days and got worried. She was in the sandbox then, where she could get better care for her injuries. The police went to his house and found him on the floor having had the first stroke. If she hadn't called, he would have died then.
Thanks T, and all of you. I hear from his sister on facebook most days, and as was already posted, got to visit Jeff shortly after the latest stroke. His sis said he was tired and depressed today, and she hopes it’s because therapy wore him out. I hope that’s all it is, too. He can’t give up now. He’s also gotten a cut on his leg that being treated to prevent infection.

Welcome “home” to Free Republic Lone_Wolfe. Know that prayers are going up from all over the Republic for Jeff. Tell him not to give up. God is in the miracle business.
Jeff had to be taken back to the emergency room yesterday with dehydration, fever, infection, and possible pneumonia. This morning he’d taken a turn for the worse, and was very uncomfortable, according to his sister. He’d being fed by a tube to the stomach, but it’s possible his digestive system has shut down. He really needs prayers now. Thank you all.
Prayer update in post 64. Please, continue to prayers, he needs them desperately!

“Jeff is not doing well at all. I am trying to get him into a Nursing Home in Beckley, where he has a chance of getting therapy, for real! He still has a bladder infection and is very weak now. I am praying that God will give us a much better place this time, that can actually help him. The plan is to get him to walking and swallowing again so he can live with us, until he is ready to live on his own again. I don't know if that is going to happen or not. I can't take care of him until he can walk and eat and I'm not sure if he has the strength or the will to get there or not. He is miserable and he is living his worst nightmare. My heart is just broken for him and for myself. I love him so much. Please pray for him to get stronger and to get the will to try again.”
“Set-Back for Jeff. His lungs are soupy again today and he has bit the inside of his cheek until it bled. His oxygen is low also. They are sending him to Beckley Appalachian Regional Emergency Room. I will take my little computer, in hopes that I can get service and update you as the day goes on. Again, please pray for Jeff, he has been through so much.”
I'm really worried about him, a person can only take so much.
Sad news to report. skidoo has taken a turn for the worse. He has decided to go back to hospice. They say he will pass within the week. The family and friends are heartbroken but they respect his wishes and understand he is in pain. They would appreciate prayers for a peaceful passing.
Have mercy, O Lord, on those who are suffering ... may they see You beyond the affliction.

Prayers for his next step to be into the Father’s loving arms. God hold him close and calm his fears and uncertainty.
Prayers are up. G-d’s will be done, but I am asking for a miracle.

So sorry things didn’t work out. Now we pray for a peaceful and pain free transition from this world to the next. This time comes to all, and for those who love the Lord, there is no fear. God bless Jeff and his loving family.

Very sad news update...
Just a few moments ago, the world became a slightly darker place. Jeff...Skidoo has passed on to his reward, and many many people will mourn the loss of his light in their lives. Please pray for those who are mourning now...he fought hard, but the battle was too much. God needed a new angel in heaven, so we have lost our angel on earth.
