It was the fastest top-speed production car at the time. The 1954 edition was the first consumer-oriented (non-racing) car sold with fuel injection.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful cars ever! A work of art on wheels. Thanks for the picture.

Indeed! Those are real cars designed by artists unlike the junk of today that starts out at the Cal. School of Design and gets massaged into a mechanical obscenity by the bean counters.

Sorry, didn’t realize you chose that image, thought it came from the article.
I’m on an iPad and posting images to FR is not particularly simple, so here’s a nice link for a very low mile ‘56 Mark II for sale in Florida:

There are multiple images showing the thought, quality and engineering that went into these cars. I particularly like the restrained, driver oriented dashboard. An ugly dash has put me off of any number of cars that I liked otherwise.
Studebaker did a nice job on most anything they made in that regard, too, even the plebian Lark had a driver oriented, well thought out display, but they shone especially well with the Hawk GT of the early-mid sixties. Many owners put aftermarket wood overlays in to cover the machine turned aluminum, which is a shame.

Very, very nice.
I liked the Auburn Roadster used in Remington Steele. Apparently it was a replica in the series.

Really a plush interior for that type of car. Only trouble I had with it was the water pump, tight fit with the big engine, but I replaced it after a few skinned knuckles from rubbing against the radiator :^)

Yep, I was 12 years old when I saw that movie and fell in mad love with that car! But I want mine to be red, not white.
