Wow--Larry Johnson also talking about this on the No Quarter blog. Jennifer Griffin "not sure" where the Kelley story originated. Developing, I'm sure...

petraeus isn’t a whistleblower, but he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. Now everybody just stand back and let the man put his poor, pathetic life back together, won’t you?
Such a shame we can’t say the same about Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Ty Woods, isn’t it? Oh well.

For the umpteenth time:

Have been posting from the jump that this affair thing was the easiest way for petraeus to REMOVE HIMSELF from his position at cia because there is far worse he REALLY doesn’t want exposed.

So he ‘resigns’ with a little help from his friends.

Upon resigning he loses his security and can avoid testifying on classified matters? If so, how convient is that?

I read that continuing security arrangements for Petraeus were being worked out. Former CIA heads know too much to be left unguarded for a period of time.

I hadn’t considered that and I think you might be right.

That is really smart. Unusual as heck, but smart.

With this dark as hell admin, they might just do it.

the GEN takes the opportunity to air the grievances and get out from under Obama and his cronies' blackmail.

You have to know, the administration has dirt on just about everybody involved in Benghazi. By making an example of Petraeus it sends a chilling message to anyone even thinking about spilling the beans.

Think about it. The DC Madam and her appointments secretary both supposedly decided to hang themselves. ( Sure they did!) And that was over something much less serious than the real scandal going on here.

In September, prosecutors and agents began a legal analysis to determine whether there were any charges that could be brought. Among the discussions: whether to interview Ms. Broadwell, who was the focus of the criminal probe, and Mr. Petraeus.

Top officials signed off on the interviews, which occurred in late September and October, just before the U.S. presidential election. During Ms. Broadwell’s first interview in September, she admitted to the affair and turned over her computer, the officials said.

On her computer, investigators found classified documents, the U.S. officials said, a discovery that raised new concerns.

At Mr. Petraeus’s interview in the week before the election, he also admitted the affair and said he hadn’t provided the classified documents to Ms. Broadwell. Agents conducted a second interview with Ms. Broadwell on Nov. 2. She also said Mr. Petraeus wasn’t the source of the documents.

This is another example of when the media wants to out something or someone, no stone is left un-turned. In a matter of 48hrs we have pictures of all involved and digging done to connect the dots of their relation to each other. Yet no media dares to question Obama and his capture of the White Hut.

A couple of months before 9/11 attacks on NY and DC and the flight that plowed into PA, good ol’ Larry wrote:

JULY 23, 2003 : (LARRY JOHNSON TO GIVE DEMOCRAT RESPONSE TO PRES BUSH’S WEEKLY RADIO ADDRESS-—SEE BERG ASSOCIATES, PALISADES SECURITY, WILLIAM WAGNER, VIPS) One of the “committees” former CIA analysts who testified, was “former CIA agent Larry Johnson.” [my note: state dept analyst too] He’s been out from the beginning of this, even back in 2003 and 2004, all over NBC and MSNBC, attacking the Bush administration for leaking Plame’s name. He’s been a wild-eyed attack dog from the beginning. Today...get this...he’s the one giving the Democrat’s radio response to the President’s weekly radio address.
I just heard a snippet of what Johnson said, on CNN Headline news. He names Rove and Libby as the culprits, and demands they be fired. He attacks the President for not doing so.
If we ever wanted proof the democrats have made the decision to “get Rove and Libby”, it’s this radio response today. No mention of Judge Roberts at all.

Larry Johnson is a rat hack, runs with the folks who set out to -and succeeded in -undermining the war on terror and specifically, the Iraq War: “Veteran Intelligence Progfessionals For Sanity,” VIPS. The media quoted them extensively, targeting conservatives by an “appeal to authority” method.

He’s also involved in some other silly arse stuff, such as Lyndon laRouche and Michael Moore “documentaries.”

VIPS’ main dude was Ray McGovern, and they have appeared at the request of progressive liberals at the fake hearings they held back around 2002-4 just as none other than John Kerry was ramping up for a presidential run.

Another is Mel Goodman, who claims to be past CIA too, and who is married to Amy Goodman who hosts the FAR FAR LEFT “Democracy Now!” show.

They are part of Dan Ellesberg’s cliche, his group on the record as requesting people to leak classified info in violation of the law, and if you are old enough that will ring bells because Danny Boy was the North Vietnamese’ best friend [well, after John Kerry.] Ellesberg wrote, while in the taxpayer’s employ, the Pentagon Papers, which he then stole and took to the media, the NY Times, IIRC, to undermine the war. The Papers were used as “evidence” against the war, even though he created them in the first place.

That said, he is interesting to read to see what spin the left is going to be up to. Larry claims to be Republican but then, so does Bloomberg, and every liberal seminar caller that ever phoned into talk radio.
