Young men giving up on marriage: ‘Women aren’t women anymore’
Life Site News ^ | 1-10-13 | Hilary White

Fewer young men in the US want to get married than ever, while the desire for marriage is rising among young women, according to the Pew Research Center.

Pew recently found that the number of women 18-34 saying that having a successful marriage is one of the most important things rose from 28 percent to 37 percent since 1997. The number of young adult men saying the same thing dropped from 35 percent to 29 percent in the same time.

Pew’s findings have caught the attention of one US writer who maintains that feminism, deeply entrenched in every segment of the culture, has created an environment in which young men find it more beneficial to simply opt out of couple-dom entirely.

Suzanne Venker’s article, “The War on Men,” which appeared on the website of Fox News in late November, has become a lodestone for feminist writers who have attacked her position that the institution of marriage is threatened, not enhanced, by the supposed gains of the feminist movement over the last 50 years.

“Where have all the good (meaning marriageable) men gone?” is a question much talked about lately in the secular media, Venker says, but her answer, backed up by statistics, is not to the liking of mainstream commentators influenced by feminism.

She points out that for the first time in US history, the number of women in the workforce has surpassed the number of men, while more women than men are acquiring university degrees.

“The problem? This new phenomenon has changed the dance between men and women,” Venker wrote. With feminism pushing them out of their traditional role of breadwinner, protector and provider – and divorce laws increasingly creating a dangerously precarious financial prospect for the men cut loose from marriage – men are simply no longer finding

I lay a lot of blame on the young men. Female students do homework without being forced by parents. They graduate from college at higher rates than men.

Men drink, play video games and watch football.

Yes it’s actually quite awful. The sense of loss of what could have been in the future; the loss of what we haven’t had the past few years.

I think marriage is the most incredible relationship that two people can have; when done right. It’s worth the risk; but people need to have eyes open going in.

The book The Five Love Languages would have helped my situation many years ago. I recommend it to everyone; married or not.

Sadly, I think a lot of young Christians have bought into some of Hollyweird’s habits.

Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean you are a conservative.”

Oh boy did I ever find that one out!!! I am in their live chat forum, okay? Forgetting I am not at home with my FReepers when we are talking about gay marriage. Well they are telling me to tall it “gay” and not “homosexual”!! They are telling me gay marriage in the church is okay. They even told me to leave the chat forum for not being Christian!!

I want to remind all FReepers that there is a whole other world outside of this utopia that Jim Thompson has created. When you leave you are not in FReeperLand anymore!

Oh and little secret just between you and me and all other Freepers.. on this Christian dating site you can send “winks” to someone you like. Well some of the men have been complaining about getting “winks” from other men!!

As the weeks went by it was revealed that she had replaced him, she just never gave him notice, until that day of coming home from work.

The key not working was his pink slip for more than a decades worth of what he thought was the family and home and lifestyle that he had built, and that was his present and future, and his life.

He was a good man and well rounded, extremely nice and sincere, pleasant and caring, a tall athletic guy who looked like Tom Selleck, a good Texas Catholic boy who did high rise construction, and a little male modeling.

It shocked all of us who thought that his marriage was the most secure of all.

What is awe inspiring, is to learn how meaningless the man is, how powerless, and how much an outsider he is in his own country. As a man, you are on your own and you have no friends or sympathizers within the system, the system sees you as an outsider, not as a member.

Eight couples met

So when they argue does it go something like this-

"You're a troll"

"No you're a RINO"

"You need to get the Zot"

"I'm going to ping JimRob and the mods on you"

You should work on your home page, so people will know how to take you.
Most of those books explain what's wrong with todays women, from a woman and a man's point of view.
Learn how to read and forget the voice.

“I hear these complaints alot. Men want to milk the cow, but they wouldn’t buy the American breed. Some, in fact, are increasingly interested in foreign brides. Seems to me that there’s little wrong with the male side of the equation and the problem lies with who the women are being trained to be.”

A lot of men are going for asian brides cause those women are more submissive. However lets be honest, those women only want a green card for them and their families. Some men have been stiffed by these chicks once they got to the US.

I don’t know if any of what follows is apropos, but I’ll type it anyway (”That’s not writing, that’s typing!”)

Men, when they fail, tend to blame others, as my ex kept pointing out to me, and as I recently read, and women tend to blame themselves. As they grow older, men start to blame themselves, and women blame... themselves.

As I read some of the golden thoughts, as they used to be called, posted above and elsewhere, like on Facebook by my, ahem, “friends”, I find agreeing myself sometimes or often, and that gives me satisfaction for about 5, 10 minutes. And then? And then I remember that people like, say, Bill Clinton or Hugh Hefner (but not Obama, who’s pissed off at the world 24/7) don’t give a damn about your golden thoughts and wisdom, and seem to achieve satisfaction day after day.

My husband and I have been married going on 29 years. I have an MBA...but, I only worked about 5 years of our marriage...well, OUTSIDE of home. (I worked for 15 years prior to that, much of that as a single Mom). I really hated corporate work, and decided my job was to help HIM in HIS job...so, we have moved, lived in Canada, and he has spent months away at times, and we had to be flexible. Luckily, too, my previous work gave me experience in salary negotiation, so he earns more than he probably would have, because I INSISTED he ask for more, and he got it! My role is pretty traditional (I do most of the cooking/cleaning/etc.) We don’t have kids (I have son from prior marriage). I really LIKE being at home, pursuing politics, and keeping us healthy...plus I am the Caretaker of the house (maintenance wise) pretty much. In other words, I am, as I have told him, “the perfect wife.” LOL. It hasn’t always been easy, but we are happier now than ever.
