Young men giving up on marriage: ‘Women aren’t women anymore’
Life Site News ^ | 1-10-13 | Hilary White

Fewer young men in the US want to get married than ever, while the desire for marriage is rising among young women, according to the Pew Research Center.

Pew recently found that the number of women 18-34 saying that having a successful marriage is one of the most important things rose from 28 percent to 37 percent since 1997. The number of young adult men saying the same thing dropped from 35 percent to 29 percent in the same time.

Pew’s findings have caught the attention of one US writer who maintains that feminism, deeply entrenched in every segment of the culture, has created an environment in which young men find it more beneficial to simply opt out of couple-dom entirely.

Suzanne Venker’s article, “The War on Men,” which appeared on the website of Fox News in late November, has become a lodestone for feminist writers who have attacked her position that the institution of marriage is threatened, not enhanced, by the supposed gains of the feminist movement over the last 50 years.

“Where have all the good (meaning marriageable) men gone?” is a question much talked about lately in the secular media, Venker says, but her answer, backed up by statistics, is not to the liking of mainstream commentators influenced by feminism.

She points out that for the first time in US history, the number of women in the workforce has surpassed the number of men, while more women than men are acquiring university degrees.

“The problem? This new phenomenon has changed the dance between men and women,” Venker wrote. With feminism pushing them out of their traditional role of breadwinner, protector and provider – and divorce laws increasingly creating a dangerously precarious financial prospect for the men cut loose from marriage – men are simply no longer finding

If you are going to try and insult someone, at least try to use one that makes sense, and fits their posting.

One place where I worked had two women who were quite predatory. They both played this game - Find a mark, get married, have a kid, divorce, child support, trumped up restraining order, find the next victim. Now for how long can they play this game?

Just advise them that homosexuality and abortion have the same end goal in mind: obliteration of future human life and eradication of all gender distinctions.

“Young men, Be weary of single women with single mothers, it may be a trap.”

I had a single mother-—she was widowed at 31-—never on welfare and worked like a dog to raise the two of us. Don’t generalize.

With so many women now in the workforce, the size of the workforce is mucher larger than if it were mostly made up of men.

Fundamental supply and demand means that this holds down the purchasing power of wages earned from working.

Since women have entered and stayed in the workforce these last few decades in such great numbers, they are increasingly finding it financially very difficult to have a family and not work outside the home, not to mention all the societal pressures and desire to “have their own paycheck”.

Those women who are not “married” to the government are often “married” to their paycheck (there’s often no “his” money, just “her” money and “our” money). Increasingly, men either don’t want to or can’t afford to play that game any more.

The male “head of household” is what is missing in most households, which was the norm in bygone days when America had a lot more practicing Christians.

It’s Judith and Holofernes—but you’ll need the deuterocanon (apocrypha) to read about it.

We’ve told our boys that if they marry an American-born women, they won’t find us at the wedding. Just too likely to end up in failure, given the way the cards are now stacked.

"Eddieeeeeee, I want to talk to yooooooooooo, what have you done for me lately....I'm an American woman now, I want what's coming to me.........HALF!!!!"

Widowed is totally different from "single", and it show up in statistics of children raised without fathers. Widowed is very close to "married".

I know your friend’s story all too well - and can state, emphatically, that I’ll neither marry again nor live with another woman nor fully trust any woman. Ever. Collectively, the gender is a rabid wolverine that smells nice and smiles when it wants something - and then rips your throat out when its bored - or thinks her mentally defective gurlfrens are having way more fun than her.

“trouble attracting an American woman because of your arrogance

LOL.. as the fire breathing dragon suffers a lethal wound, it lashes out in anger.
You should realize that the emotional blackmail, scorn, and insults will not work on the guys who suddenly see American women exactly as they are.
We laugh when you say we are unworthy of them, that we only seek doormats, that it takes a “real man” to hang in there for the abuse they will hurl at us, etc.

And the real laugher often heard, is that foreign women only want to use us. I have to suppress open laughter at that one. Supposedly, the way to avoid a woman that wants to manipulate you and use you for her own financial betterment,,, is to marry an American woman?
Thats like jumping in with a great white to avoid an argument in the boat.

No, the truth is that most foreign women get treated like garbage in most other countries. Over there men follow islam, drink to excess, beat them, die at age 50, or at best,, treat them with benign contempt. American husbands are almost angels in their eyes. Are there a few losers who abuse some nice girl from somewhere else? Sure. And there are also a very few of these women taking advantage of some man.
Both were mostly in years past.

Modern communications that didnt even exist 10 years ago, changed everything.
Today many women in bad places around the globe get the dream of an American man, and the man gets a woman who treasures femininity and has true strength borne of a life of hardships.

And ask around. The rest of the world looks at American wives as the worst on earth. It isnt fair for the few nice women here. (and here on FR) But the numbers are against you here. They overwhelmingly love Obama, support abortion, and feel like gays should be able to marry.
The number of marriagable women here is dropping to a point that there are not many options.

It’s a global economy! Maybe foreign competition will be make American women improve their operation. (i didn’t dare say “cut out the fat” of the operation)

LOL, my grandfather on my mother’s side, who later became a deacon, rode into a church on a horse to get my grandmother when she was 15.

From the stories I’ve heard, she was wilder, she was the Indian.
