Most of them are kind hearted, well intentioned, and uninformed. Besides, it's all very emotional and makes them feel really, really good.
Just don't ask them where all that money goes; they only know vague generalities. Komen is an absolute marketing juggernaut as any NFL fan can attest to. They had a “pink out” at a local high school football game last year. I was queasy the entire time.

It’s a business.
Has a Board of Directors, all sorts of high paying positions, etc.
I mean I donate to United Way, but I get the names of the people in need and take the stuff directly to them - no middle man, works for me.
