My favorite writer and Fakebook “friend”, posted a story recently about having attended some discussion panel with a couple of other writers and a dozen readers where the writers asked the readers how they chose the next book to read after they finished reading the current one. And the writer reports that he was astonished when the readers answered, why, the next one on the bestseller list!

Aside from the obvious (anything by a politician) my vote in best seller category goes to "Eat,Pray,Love" renamed by me to B*tch,Moan,Whine. I wanted to meet the author just so I could slap her.

Catcher in the Rye, in the classic category, oddly enough for the same reason.

Ulysses, Catcher in the Rye, and The Old Man and the Sea.

Honorable mentions: For Whom the Bell Tolls, and the gamut of modern vampire fanfic (Anne Rice and the Twilight krep, etc.).

Just my ever-so-humble opinion.

Atlas Shrugged - The entire idea behind this book is that capitalist Atlases should shrug and let the socialists destroy civilization so that a new utopia can magically rise out of the ashes. Stupid.

According to Twain, The Book of Mormon (also known as the BM) is the most boring read.
