What if Barbie looked like a real woman?

How many girls dream of looking like Barbie when they grow up – only to realize it’s physically impossible?

Estimates of what a woman would look like if she had Barbie’s measurements rack up – so to speak – at about 39”-20”-33″. She would be 6 to 7 feet tall and only weigh about 100 to 108 pounds.

Photographer and artist Nickolay Lamm aimed to answer this question recently by creating 3D images of a Barbie doll with a “real-life”. Lamm used CDC measurements for the average American 19-year-old female in creating his doll – she has a 33.6-inch waist and weighs 150 pounds.

I adored Barbie as much as the next middle class white kid, but after gazing at Lamm’s doll for a minute, it was the archetype that looked strange.

These images exemplify the bizarre and fictitious ideals girls and boys grow up with. I’m not even sure what Mattel’s motivation is in keeping Barbie’s crazy measurements – wouldn’t a more realistic version sell just as well? We’re not even getting into the cultural and racial diversity Barbie lacks.

But eventually she ends up naked, being twirled around by her hair. My now teenaged kids confirmed my theory.

This would have been around ‘69-’70.....Barbie had all kinds of “mod” clothes, you know, the miniskirts and the go-go boots. I had a Barbie suitcase with little hangers, and we girls would bring ours to school and have fashion shows, LOL.

Admittedly, I had one or two Barbie dolls...but to be honest, I found dolls pretty boring. I was a tomboy; tree climbing, fort building, outdoor, horse, skateboard, bicycle, minibike riding tomboy.

Tattoo on their Back?I have seen many woman with sleeves of tattoo’s and the ones that tattoo their legs.Man that’s Gross.

Tattoos are bad enough on guys.For an Example take a look at the Football Player just picked up for the murder of his friend.To have that many tattoos you have to be a person who enjoys pain.So there must be something wrong with a person who is deeply into tattoos.
