WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut woman has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities say she left her dog alone in a hot car with the windows rolled up and it died.

I’m glad she was charged. I hope she’s convicted.
I’m having a hard time figuring out your anger, I mean considering you don’t even have a dog. So, why would somebody have to break out your window to rescue an imaginary dog, thereby leading to a “hollow point to the back of the head.”? Just feel like being argumentative today?
>> Interesting tagline, considering your posts.
Sorry, I don’t worship DOG.
you are silly... you show all the bombast of someone with a paper asshole.
and before you make any more threats of your hollow points, you have already displayed a mindset that would shoot first, adn therefore should you ever find yourself in a self-defense situation, you have already doomed yourself with your shoot-first mouth.
>> Just feel like being argumentative today?
Maybe. :-)

That’s a fair question, so let me attempt an answer. Someone who makes a statement like the post I responded to is the sort that TAKES IT UPON THEMSELVES to break the law to enforce THEIR morals. It’s the attitude, not the act in fact, that disturbs me.
Since we’re dealing primarily in hypotheticals, let me give you a hypothetical. Someone who says “I’m offering free broken windows to anyone who does this thing” is the sort who would actively SEEK the infraction so they could do something about it. You know, “While I walk out to my car at the mall, let me make a quick scan for poor doggies locked in their cars.” So this vigilante looks in my car... sees my jacket as a dog (because she WANTS to), and breaks my window. Oops! Look around quick to see if anyone noticed... whew! Pop in the car and leave. Lather rinse repeat.
Like I said, it’s the ATTITUDE that taking the law into your own hands is ACCEPTABLE — even ADMIRABLE — behavior in this society that chaps my butt raw.
Hope that helps.
Well, that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. Whatever “someone with a paper asshole” means. Damned if I know. Sounds like something you throw into a discussion when you really don’t know how to say whatever it is you want to say.
You’re wrong and ignorant in your conclusions, but don’t let *that* stand in your way of expressing yourself.
Dogs running loose don’t live long, as a rule, unless you live in the boonies. BTW It is a crime to leave your dog locked up in your car in Houston. I’d call HPD in a minute, and let them break the window.

How do you feel about block watch guys?
>> Id call HPD in a minute, and let them break the window.
DING DING DING!!! We have a WINNER!!!
That’s the way to handle it. Not break into someone’s car yourself.
Criminalizing stupidity is a fool’s errand. When done it is the result of factions who will benefit from such legislation, knowing full well the task can’t be realized and thus assuring them of income/power.
Cops do this all the time and are never punished.
HEY LOOK! FREE SHOWERS!

I like ‘em. They shouldn’t take the law into their hands, either, and they don’t need to. To the extent that the LAW provides, they should do everything in their power WITHIN THE LAW to prevent crime in their neighborhoods.
George Zimmerman is a great example of a neighborhood watch guy who was doing just that.
Hope that helps.
Now, can you help me understand the point YOU were trying to make? I don’t think I do.
Nervious,
Consider suggesting the use of a 911 call - an officer will be on scene quite quickly and can deal with the window without the good Samaritan facing consequences.
I don't consider myself one with "delicate sensibilities" but if I see a person or even an animal trapped in a car on a hot day, I'm busting open a window to get them out. If you want to send me a bill for the broken window instead of thanking me, I'll pay it. If you want to blow my brains out with your "hollow point", prepare to spend the rest of your days in jail.
Yes they do, and it really pisses me off. But then again, they are held to a different standard. We had a case here where a guy’s kid found a gun in the glove compartment of their car in a convenience store parking lot and killed his sister. A week later the very same thing happened again, but this time the gun owner was a cop. Guess what the outcomes were...

It took responders 20 minutes after being called to get to that parking lot to break that window in the car that kid was locked in. Too late. Good thing those good citizens stood around obeying the law watching that kid boil.
