"The Last Ride" was very enjoyable movie, one that answered several questions and filled in many blanks.
Much better than the first Hank movie I saw at the theater when I was a kid:

Ol’ Hank wrote some songs better than others - but he never wrote a bad one.

I can still recall vividly seeing a car come around a corner and the driver leaning out the window and saying “Hey Good Looking, What You Got Cooking” to a girl on the sidewalk.
I was around 4 or 5 and it would have been either 1951 or 52. It was in Panama City, Fl.

Why Don’t You Love Me Like You Used To Do?
Your Cheatin’ Heart
Lovesick Blues
I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry
Cold, Cold Heart
And, for all my brothers out there who have run into the Family Court buzz saw, My Son Calls Another Man Daddy. Not in the top five or even the top ten, but anyone who sobs when they hear that one is my brother.

Just out of the service I went to the University of Tennessee. I was looking for an apartment to rent that quarter and there was one at the Andrew Johnson Hotel over on Gay Street. It was a run down one that was pretty beat up. I declined it. I found out later it was the one Hank stayed in the last day of his life.

Wow, a lot of country music giants on that video clip, GailA!
Here's another good version of that song (if you like the Gaithers):

He likely came up through The Strip {Cumberland Ave} as it was the Dixie Lee highway the interstate of the day.
The hotel on the inside's been refurbed several times and made into office spaces for Knox County Schools and lawyers. It's still standing but the apartments that were closer to Blount mansion are gone.
