OVERLAND PARK, Kansas (KCTV) - What a customer left behind for a waiter in Kansas has ignited a social media firestorm.
The server found a message written on a credit card receipt telling him he would get no tip because he was gay.
When Dr. Marvin Baker heard about a gay waiter who had been wronged by a customer at the Carrabba's restaurant at 107th and Metcalf, Baker and his homosexual partner showed up for lunch to do their part to make things right.
"I was angry," said Baker. "I said this is not Christian as I know it."
"I said, 'We are here to meet the celebrity. The one who was mistreated,' and she said, 'That's my son. Would you like a table or booth?' I said, 'Wherever he's serving.'"
The 20-year-old waiter and his mother, who also works at the restaurant, say they did not want to make any comments about the hateful message a couple wrote on the receipt earlier this week.
The message started off with a complaint saying, "Thank you for your service, it was excellent." But then the customer goes on to say, "We cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to God."
Baker, who served as a pastor for many years and leads a Bible study group for LGBT members told the waiter this was unacceptable.

Being “mistreated” in the homo community makes you a “celebrity”... all it takes is some acting.
99.99999999% this was a hoax.
The thing is, tipping is stupid.
Why?
First off, how does this supposed couple know the man is gay? Then, we're supposed to believe this homophobe couple not only don't leave him a tip but decide to write him a note declaring they were stiffing him because of their superior perception........that he is gay?
Actual story probably was someone didn't leave him the tip he thought he'd earned so he got "even" with them for creating the "gay bashing" story so he could get attention and sympathy!
Why not pull a stunt like this, blacks do it all the time and cry racism for swastikas being scratched on their dorm doors, car doors, etc.
Wasn't there even a woman that carved some slur on her own forehead?
And what, just what is it really happened as reported?
Enough of these accusations of staged events, as if all people on, er, our side, were as saintly as we all are!
Apparently, he was at dinner and a family emergency (IIRC) came up and he just swiped and signed....didn't even think about the tip.
The waitress on the other hand received $10,000 from fools with money that donated it to her via the internet.
exactly
I’d think a gay waiter would enjoy getting stiffed.
Cheapskates pay what they owe?
Someone doing a false flag op to promote an agenda, who knew.
Probably not the first time.
I get what you are saying, but after enough years, one collects a record that the great majority of these tales are fakes.
If you want to, list the last 10 or 20 national cases of the last decade or so, and learn how almost all of them were fakes. It is wrong to start with the assumption that a tale like this is real.
my decimal was out of place.
I meant its 9999999999% chance that this was a hoax.
First thing I always ask my waiter is if he owns any Judy Garland records.
In the late 1940s there was a waiter who didn’t get tipped in Oklahoma city, in 1972 there was one in Seattle, it happens.
Oh, you’re talking about the gratuity.
Actually, I think libs are more likely than conservatives to do things like this (refuse to tip based on some political consideration). Libs try to prevent conservative businesses from even opening up in liberal cities. Isn’t that worse than refusing a tip to a single waiter?
That’s true. If true, I would say that it’s wrong not to tip someone for good service (even if they were gay).
It would have been a greater witness for Christ to just pay their bill, tip the guy, and then get to know him so that he may be saved-and then become free from that lifestyle.
It’s not like he was a relative living in their home.
Eww! What if he touched the food?
I never understood whey teh gheys are so fond of the Wizard of Oz.
