I get to sit home… I get to go visit my friends all day… I even get to smoke weed…
Me and people that I know that are illegal immigrants that don’t contribute to society, we still gonna get paid.
Our check’s gonna come in the mail every month… and it’s gonna be on time… and we get subsidized housing… we even get presents delivered for our kids on Christmas… Why should I work?

I heard this call from Lucy live that day. She has to be so lazy, someone has to wipe her fat butt. She called another show later in the day to say the welfare only lasted a couple of years. I call BS on that excuse.
Yeah, it might have been a prank. Who knows.
She is only one of dozens and dozens of millions. This is why I get so pissed when I hear some bleeding heart moan about a 5% cut in SNAP and admonish us to try and live on $5 a day for food....
The truth is SNAP is only part of it all. This bitch gets $405 in SNAP, pays $50 on a $600/month rent (Section 8), gets $150/month for electricity, $100/month for water, has an Obama phone, AND what she didn’t mention is that she gets near $5000 each year free cash in EITC. She also didn’t mention TANF (temporary assistance to needy families) or WICs, but I’ll bet she gets it.

The talk gets interesting by the end where it is revealed what a trap the system is. She does explain how she would be appreciably worse off if she did try to work.
The problem is that the safety net became a very cushy hammock. Honestly, it ought to be miserable, and the the marginal cost of leaving it would be minimal. However we live in a society where idiots scream about wealth disparity without a lick of concern about effort and ability disparity which is what makes for the gap.

I find it very hard to believe that the caller was an actual welfare recipient. This has prank written all over it. The sentiment’s true but the call was a prank.

Since it’s federal, I assume they are the same in WV. I’ll have to look more closely at those ahead of me in line as they swipe.
It’s almost like they want you to think it’s patriotic to be on welfare...
How can you tell a gov’t. EBT card from a bank debit and/or credit card?
One way is to see the card. While it looks like a debit etc the name on the cars is easy to read. The Texas Lone Star card is white with a big LONE STAR in the top left corner.

and the free loaders have to pay separately for items not covered by food stamps so after they swipe their cards the cashier will have to tell them how much they owe for the beer etc
