Let us pretend for a moment, or longer if the idea takes off, that we found some uncharted land or won our freedom from America, and began our own country.
Let us also pretend we had a convention of Freepers who were charged with deciding what our new constitution would say, and what rights our new Government would be limited to.
After seeing the destruction of the United States, and knowing how it came about, I wonder if we could write a new constitution that would stand the test of time?
I'll start by offering these suggestions for consideration as amendments.
Any other suggestions?
We want a country where all children will know how to use one, why they should use one anmd that no one has a right to stop them from using one.
Eliminate that, and eventually you will have a generation of anti gun wackos.
We must learn from the past, or we will inevitably repeat it.
Since another LOTR movie is coming out, how about: One Ring To Rule Them All?
12. You receive a fair trial BEFORE you hang.
I would modify #9 to read that while military service is not REQUIRED, no mal who has not served may vote or hold office.
I would also require that *ALL* communications, data and memoranda of the government be declassified after a period of 20 years. Secrets are sometimes necessary, but keeping something classified for longer than a generation is not.
True, but i figured others would add those while I made a rough draft of what i thought was missing considering history we know have to learn from. So add them.
get on the list of those who would frame the constitution and add them.
Must leave for lunch. I am late already and my soup is getting could.
“The only types of laws that government at any level may pass are those that deal with an individual or entity initiating force against another individual or entity”
for example no murder, no assault , no stealing, no vandalism, no kidnapping, no trespassing, no harassment
a threat to me is speech and that can't be prevented but repeated threats is harassment and there should be laws against harassment.
an individual should have right to property, to life, privacy, freedom, to be left alone,
gov should only act as a referee(courts, police) in cases where one individual or entity accuses another of violating one of these rights. but only after due process of law shall an individual’s freedom or property be taken away.
yes the federal gov can do military , border control but that and the above are it. no more gov. than that is needed.
since you only have military, border control ,immigration control , police and courts in gov then taxes can be much lower than the 60% we pay now if you combine all taxes.definitely don't need an income tax nor IRS. a simple sales tax or tariff is all that is needed
Pretty much what have now with the following additions:
Term limits on all elected and appointed officials.
Ban of all political parties. Candidates state their positions, people vote on the merits of the individual candidates.
Ban the Federal Reserve and the IRS. Do away with the income tax. Go back to funding Federal Government via tariffs and or sales taxes.
Balanced budgets, unless state of emergency exists. Must be approved by 2/3 of all Congress.
Vote of confidence procedures for the President. If 2/3 vote no confidence, a new election must be held within 3 months. Recall elections for all judges, Congressman if a certain portion of the electorate signs a petition. I don’t know what that number should be yet.
While they're doing that we open the valves and drown the entire lot of the bastards.
1) A Freeper may not injure another Freeper or, through inaction, allow another Freeper to come to harm.
2) A Freeper must obey the orders given to it by other Freepers with earlier sign up dates (No "I lurked here for 12 months before I signed up excuses"), except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A Freeper must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
No law, rule or regulation shall be written in anything other than American English and shall in no way take up more than one 8 1/2” X11” sheet of paper in 14 point type.
It would be easier to just use the one we already have. It’s available since the current .gov apparently doesn’t need it or use it.
11. NO RINOS.
You have to be more specific. For example the “commerce clause” of the Constitution has been interpreted to give Congress virtually unlimited power to force the people to do anything. Also, Congress has created dozens of agencies and has given them the power to create “rules” with the weight of law so Congress doesn’t have to get its hands dirty. To remedy that I propose the following:
No government agency, organization, or entity created by Congress in the past or future shall have legislative or judicial powers. For the purpose of this amendment, legislative power shall be construed to mean the making of any rule violation of which renders a citizen, legal entity, corporation, or company of any state or the United States to imprisonment, fine, excessive or punitive fee, or other punishment. Judicial power shall be construed to mean, the holding of any evidentiary hearing not presided over by an Article III court or the issuance of findings which result in imprisonment, fine, or punishment of a citizen, legal entity, corporation, or company of any state or the United States.”
that is one great plan it would be interesting to watch the C-Span broadcast of dimwit buerorats trying to save their various sinecures. smirk
12. no democrats. deport all democrats and illegals
I would keep the one we have. It is great, but I would add term limits
The House and senate to only meet for 3 months twice a year.
An age limit on those who serve.
Restrict the Presidents Executive order.
If a law is needed it must be passed. No more ruling through regulations.
ID for Voters
Only those who pay taxes vote.
You won’t be forced by the government to buy health insurance, so use that money when the government forces you to buy weapons. Problem solved! Hope there are subsidies.
You want a government mandate. I want a country where the rights of individuals are respected. I own several guns. My sister and her husband own none. I no more would want my sister to be told that she must own a gun anymore than I would want someone to tell me I can't own a gun. The current Second Amendment says "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It doesn't say "the requirement".
