As I heard Pauls story, it became obvious to me that while we often have a laser focus on preparing to survive the impending collapse, his community had gone farther and made preparations for survival after the collapse. In other words: yes, he had to have practical necessities and skills to make it through whatever came his way but what then? After the world as he knew it ended, was his community prepared to help create a new one?

Perhaps I should have said “existing”.
I understand, but if you really want a few laughs, use autocorrect—it’s a total riot!
If there isn’t already an Indian tribe named TEOTWAWKI, we can organize one. I’m 1/8 Wampanoag—all I have to do is greet you with “Hey, Cuz!” and we can claim that A Tribe Is Born. (Witness Fauxahontas.)
I’d be fine with that, I like Indians. Will we get a check? We have Indian friends in Oklahoma and they get a check every month. Some of them are blond and blue eyed but they still get a check!
Um, don't you think you should answer my legitimate question before I consider your snarky one?
Funny you should mention that...just last week I gave my daughter her first lesson in "equality."
Here's this five year old full of righteous indignation over daddy leaving the seat up on "her" commode, so I gently posed to her if daddy was polite enough to lift the seat for her benefit, she can be gracious enough to put it back down when she needs it.
Oh, the crap they teach kids in school....
No, I don’t. Your original rude statements and snarky question were addressed to Marcella.
My questions were simply asked for clarification purposes, and need to be answered first, since the clarification could have an impsact on the answer.
As you don’t feel a need to answer the question you originally intruded on, neither do I feel the need to answer your trailer park understanding of my original challenge.
Apparently talking trash, scapegoating others, and hurling insults is the only purpose you've had in these recent posts so there's really no sense in discussing it further.
Why? Seems pretty straight forward to me. What system of government has been changed by the organized protesting of the country's women?
You are simply employing a delaying tactic because you got caught by your own petulance.
Oh petulance thy name is papertyger. LOL
Forgive the reply to a week-old post - here’s a quick view of that author’s books, which look quite interesting.

(Never used that site before, it was one of the offerings at Google.)
Drummie, as to the subject of this thread, notice the classes are free & tailored to the venue (such as a children’s or church group, for instance). With everything else going on you’ve rather much on your plate as it is, but I still think it’s a neat idea.
Oh wow! thanks for the link! I looked at the reviews, and I appreciated learning other readers’ thoughts on these books!
I had noted the author name down so I may begin searching for those three books in the American history series, but am now glad to see that I may want to get any of his books!

You’re very welcome. These books join a long list of wanna-reads I already have going. :o)
Thanks for your courtesy ping in the other thread as well. Have a great weekend! (And happy Friday the 13th, heh.)
LOL! you are welcome for the courtesy ping. I appreciated so much the link you sent and I wanted to share it but could not in good conscience take the credit for the find.
I have a planner notebook that I carry around and the front pocket is full of scraps of paper for books I want to be on the lookout for when I’m at any kind of book store, new or used.
LOL! I wish you a happy weekend as well. I had not realized it’s Friday the 13th! It’ll be a lovely one, I’m sure!
And most of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS from now until the Wisemen get there!
“Whatever happens, for whatever reason, our ancestors endured hardships, and so shall we, then we shall see what we are made of.”
Words of Truth, and imho worthy of restatement. Thanks.
Dear RegulatorCountry, greeneyes, and Marcella, I’m dipping my oar in here belatedly.
RegulatorCountry stated:
“By your slippery definition, Mexicans are Americans, Canadians are Americans, heck let’s just throw in Central and South America, too! They’re Americans according to your slippery definition.”
With all due respect, I don’t think it is a “slippery definition.”
I must report that MANY people from South America consider themselves “Americans.” I was schooled strongly by my close friends from South America a number of years ago when I was taking some college courses with them.
When I would refer to “Americans,” meaning US Citizens, they would take me to task and insist that I needed to expand my awareness that they too ARE Americans and wanted to be thought of as such. My friends came from a culture in which they insist that this was a common perception. According to them, ALL people who hail from North, Central, and South America, by THEIR definition ARE “AMERICANS.” The individuals I was acquainted with are proud of their native country, but also have an appreciation for the US...and wish that the appreciation and respect were mutual.
They do have a point, in that our two continents and their isthmus, each bears in its name the word, “America.”
US citizens, referring to “Americans” invariably mean themselves and other fellow US citizens. Newsmedia from the EU, Japan, China ... when they refer to “America” or “Americans,” to whom are they referring? I can assure you it’s not Guatemalans.
