That’s the thing. DirectTV pays billions so they can dictate how NFL games are programmed. The money in NFL is in gambling and fantasy football. So DirecTV came up with the RedZone channel. I know people who have gotten DirecTV simply for that one channel. It’s genius. Baseball has to give its product away because people don’t care nearly as much anymore. The NFL can dictate its terms because people will pay for the privilege of watching it. And hey, if it’s blacked out, just go to a bar with satellite and watch it there. Still nicer and cheaper than the stadium experience nowadays.
Double post. Come on, rookie! How did that happen?
Go Bolts!
I agree. Men are still allowed to be men. We play, we fight and then go out and have some beer. But give it time. The libs are already trying to **ssyfy the sport.
I think the record has to go to Seattle in 2010 when they took the NFC West with a 7-9 record.
Baseball probably has just as many jerks, and I think there is even too much jerky self-congratulatory garbage in today’s baseball as well.
There is a built in way to police it more than football or basketball: there is a jerk on the mound as well. That jerk doesnt want to be shown up, and can do something about it with less possible repercussions as to the outcome of the game/season than in other sports. It might not even come in the same series, payback could come in a game 3 months from then, or maybe even next season, depending on the game situation. And the players all know it, nobody wants 90+ anywhere, much less above the shoulders.
Thats why you dont see guys slapping their chests and acting fruity after a bloop single in a 9-1 blowout.

Someone here doesn’t understand simple economics. With prices set above the equilibrium point, there will be a surplus of unsold tickets. Drop the price, and those tickets will sell. And next time, don’t set prices so high.
“I love football, but I dont enjoy watching the NFL. Im not sure how much of it has to do with what you mentioned. Im sure its a factor, but the games are just boring. Get the ball on the 30, drive 40 yards, kick a fg, Viagra commercials, kick off, Viagra commercials, 3 and out, punt, Viagra commercials. Mix in a bunch of replays and targeting penalties, and Im ready for my between services nap. I couldnt imagine sitting in the cold for it.”
Agreed. That’s why I pre-record almost all football games and use the FF button liberally. I skip almost everything but the actual play itself, which is well under 30 minutes.
The ‘81(?) playoff game versus the same team, the Chargers? That was the coldest game on record, I believe, including windchill with a temperature of -57 F.
Man, if you went to that you’ve got a crap ton of iron in your blood to stay warm! I’m surprised you’re not still feeling the cold from that game!
I agree, it works best that way. But with umps issuing warnings at the drop of a hat retaliation is more likely to happen some other day to some other player any how, in either league. It still works though.

shhhhhhh. Common sense isn't allowed don't you know.
And expected to be a good sport and gentleman while doing it. There is no other pro sport that still has that expectation.
Because they had a worse record than Arizona and Fran Sancisco.
Yet Arizona did not make the playoffs and FS has to travel to GB.
I just think it's wrong. And dumb. As most wrong things are.
They were supposed to build the stadium Downtown. The rapid transit was supposed to link the Downtown stadium, the new University downtown, and the old Umiversity. Instead they built in Orchard park, and the new University in Amherst. Totally stupid.
