Three of four playoff games still not sold out. Should NFL worry?
Yahoo Sports ^ | 1/1/2014 | Frank Schwab

It would be a tremendous embarrassment to the league to have three of four playoff games blacked out locally, and likely, the tickets will get sold somehow to avoid that scenario. But there's a bigger issue here. Is this the most stark example that NFL fans aren't too excited to go to games anymore?

I can't speak for anyone else but the NFL is screwed.
So long as the official "officials" are hell bent on manipulating the outcome of games instead of being impartial and calling the games honestly I'll not pay for a ticket to watch a game. The NFL is not interested in taking care of those that pay the NFL's bills (it's fans) instead they are only interested in participating in the social engineering the liberals in this country want shoved down our throats. They cater to the gamblers, homosexuals, feminists, and gang bangers. Hell... How many of their players are criminals?
Not something I want my children and grand children growing up to be.

Why go out in the cold, deal with $10 beer, $150 tickets, when you can watch it on TV?

Many years ago, John Madden said, “You always have to remember. There are three teams on the field.”

Could be another sign the Obama economy is still in the crapper. Although we are told how great the economy is every day, stories like this highlight the fact that that may not be the case.

I think in this economy and with the sudden high, insurance costs people are just completely tapped out after the holidays. Who can afford $240 for playoff tickets.

If the tickets were $10, they’d be gone.

My take is that people have finally had their fill of the Gestapo tactics (invasive pat-downs, can only carry in a clear plastic bag, etc.) No one wants to pay outrageous ticket and beer prices to be treated like prisoners in a gulag.

The author of this article better watch out lest he be placed on a “do not attend” list and face a lifetime ban from NFL games. He dares to question the NFL’s judgement, that cannot be tolerated.

A high of 4 degrees is predicted for Green Bay on Sunday.

Tickets aren’t selling? Can’t understand why.

The economy is bad, but Green Bay is supposed to have a high of 5 degrees and a low of -19. That doesn’t include the wind chill.

Ever heard of “Black-Outs”? From my understanding, until the games are indeed sold out, the blackout order stands. No local area TV.

Was not the stadium packed for the Ice Bowl?

Of course, back then, the common man could afford the tickets.

Brilliant idea to boost attendance/ratings for NFL playoff games: Conduct gay weddings between quarters.

OTOH, the tickets for the Iggles/Stains game sold out in 3 minutes.

Usually the local TV station buys up the tickets.

They have overpriced a good product. Mistakes like this happen all the time. Eventually economic reality will level things. That economic reality however may be a bit unpalatable to the NFL owners and players.

Your point is true also. Gathering en masse anymore seems to be one of subjection to Gestapo crowd control tactics.

I love football, but I don’t enjoy watching the NFL. I’m not sure how much of it has to do with what you mentioned. I’m sure it’s a factor, but the games are just boring. Get the ball on the 30, drive 40 yards, kick a fg, Viagra commercials, kick off, Viagra commercials, 3 and out, punt, Viagra commercials. Mix in a bunch of replays and targeting penalties, and I’m ready for my between services nap. I couldn’t imagine sitting in the cold for it.
