Ontario Catholic teachers association to march in gay WorldPride parade in Toronto

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association took another step in its promotion of the homosexual agenda Monday as it announced it would march in Toronto’s WorldPride parade on June 29.

The association, which represents the province’s 45,000 teachers and plays a large role in their professional and spiritual formation, passed a motion at its AGM this weekend to organize a delegation for the homosexual activist event.

“Registering for, and marching in, the World Pride Parade is a visible symbol of solidarity with one of the most marginalized groups in the Catholic community,” reads a “rationale” attached to the motion, which required a simple majority to pass.

Though it’s often billed as “family friendly,” Toronto Pride is known for its displays of full frontal nudity, simulated sex acts, sadomasochism, and sexual bondage.

Jack Fonseca, a spokesman for Campaign Life Catholics, said the decision is an “all out rebellion against the Catholic Church,” and argued that "OECTA is turning itself into a homosexual-activist group."

The motion, proposed by OECTA’s Toronto Secondary Unit, states: “That the Association show its support for Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) and its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) members by registering for, and marching in, the World Pride Parade on June 29, 2014.”

Again, a few really good street-sweepers would do wonders. Deal with the gays and the teachers at the same time. They’re both from the entitlement crowd, just different reasons for being there.

Mulling over “Going My Way”, and fondly remembering when I studied Catholicism in my youth, and daydreamed at least part of that time of becoming a priest, I’d been thinking of dropping in on a service at my local Catholic church until I noticed the rainbow running through their parish sign.

No thanks, I thought. Forget it.

I haven’t seen it but my wife tells me there’s a Nabisco graham cracker commercial that features a B&W couple along with a queer “couple” living normal happy lives. While I can accept the B&W couple, I refuse to ever accept a queer “couple”. There is nothing normal about that arrangement. If this is true, Nabisco graham crackers won’t be in our house.

...its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) members ...

Two spirited? Crikey, they must have a full time staff doing nothing but inventing new cutsie terms for abomination.

“Registering for, and marching in, the World Pride Parade is a visible symbol of solidarity with one of the most marginalized groups in the Catholic community,”

Catholics who accept traditional Catholic teachings are rapidly becoming "the most marginalized groups in the Catholic community."

And will the pope do anything about this, or will he decide that it would lower his popularity among non-believers?

Re: The SSPX

Some years ago I attended some masses at an SSPX church and never heard anything anti-Semitic. And do you think that the mainstream Catholic church does not harbor some priests who are anti-Semitic? You have referenced two or three instances of problems within the SSPX, but do those problems outweigh a Catholic teacher group of 45,000 members wholeheartedly embracing the gay agenda?

SSPX hit jobs aren’t a new phenomenon around here. Many of those links you post point to articles written by the leftist religious equivalents of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SSPX position on the subject of “anti-semitism” is that they are opposed to it. Some of the statements that have been made and highlighted in these articles are taken out of context and deliberately translated incorrectly (sound familiar?). The actual SSPX positions are exactly inline with historical Catholicism. My own interest in the SSPX is the correct and valid liturgy, which you also find in the FSSP, and the “extraordinary” form.

Hi Steve. I haven’t actually attended an SSPX Mass but would like to some day. FSSP is the same distance so I will go to them somewhat preferentially, as long as they don’t cave to the “New Catholicism”..

I have no reason to doubt your own reported experience, and anti-Jewish, anti-Israel sentiment is spreading again like a disease through all kinds of people and institutions.

It would be difficult to weigh the two sins and decide which is worst. The punishment is the same for each (see "Old Testament" Law and Prophets on the latter). We (people of all nations and religions) should avoid supporting any abominable, prohibited act or further defaming or otherwise hurting the chosen people.

I'll admit that I'm not Chrstian, Jewish, Islamic, Hindu, Atheist, etc., but many perceive the "Old Testament" as somehow superseding the "New" and launching wordy ramblings with irrelevant metaphors in efforts to state the same and deny it. If they really believe what they're saying (and at the same time, denying), then they have no reason to keep copies of the "Old."

Here’s a re-comment with an error of mine corrected (re. “New” and “Old”).
