Report: Food Prices Skyrocket: “We’re Going to Have a Major Problem Coming Into the Fall”
SHTF Plan ^ | 5/14/14 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 05/14/2014 4:32:58 PM PDT by Kartographer

The Producer Price Index made available by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics this morning has now confirmed those fears. Consumers are seeing an immediate impact to their wallets in the form of food price inflation and in all likelihood the trend will continue going forward.

These latest numbers are serious. So much so that according to Zero Hedge, “the last time food prices spiked by this much in one month, the resulting Arab Spring wave of revolutions tumbled governments across north Africa and the middle east.”

OMG they can’t “skyrocket” any more than they already have...

My average grocery bill has AT LEAST doubled since Odumbass took over.

I spent $500 on groceries for the first time ever last week.

I grew up on a farm and drank whole milk for a lot of years. Just can’t do skim milk.

One is better off drinking whole milk anyway considering how skim milk is "made." The myth that one shouldn't consume fat for good health is inaccurate. One needs fat in their diet for good health. It's just that there are healthy fats - coconut oil, avocados, fish to name a few - and unhealthy fats - those manufactured in labs (trans fats). Back when the gov't. wasn't pushing low fat foods and people were cooking with lard/Crisco, most people were thin and healthy. Now with all of the low fat foods most people are obese.

I believe that entirely. Everything degenerates with age.

So exercise becomes even more important with age.
When one sweats, one loses salts including potassium.
I am convinced only reason I have avoided heart problems
is regular walking exercise. My father and uncles all succumbed to heart disease, and I believe lack of exercise was the main cause.

Besides the dumbass policies of fuehrer Obummer, we also have increasing competition from EBT people. Every time I see an overflowing shopping carts in Winco grocery store, invariably they pull out EBT card. And a quick glance at the cart tells you they are not buying basic staples.

Obesity in America began in the year when low fat foods came on to market. It is not complicated. A diet with fats keeps your hunger in check. Low fat foods make you hungry quickly after. Chinese food anyone?

It isn’t like Mitt has started supporting an increase in the minimum wage or something liberal like that.....

Here we are on a thread about spiking food prices and folks are claiming that if we just elected Romney that we wouldn’t be experiencing this...yet he just espoused support for a policy that will actually drive prices higher.

I did vote for Mitt, but only because it was the last chance to kill Obamacare. Now, there is no future reason for me to pull the lever for R progressives.

It’ll get much worse as the effects of the California water situation are made clear to shoppers by August.

Let them eat Smelt!

As a kid we didn’t have much meat except hamburger, smoked pork chops, and bologna. They were cheap. Now none of those is cheap enough to actually get by on.

Thanks for your well thought out reply.
Just so you know, I fought hard against Romney during primaries mainly because I know this guy has no backbone.

But in general, I voted against Obama because I am from
Chicago and know exactly what makes Obama tick. I knew
him like the back of my hand before he appeared on the
national scene. I was actively involved in politics in
Chicago area for 30+ years.

HR#2847.....above my pay grade but in essence it affects the value of the dollar and will seriously increase the cost of living.

It also might mean that the dollar is no longer the reserve currency and the feds. would not be able to print money at will.

I send a note to Rush asking him to explain it in layman's terms.

It becomes law on July 1st.

I don’t blame you for the snit, being tracked goes against everything we have in us, but what your Grandson said was a sign you’ve got a good one there.

He knows the Lord, AND he’s got enough sense to know what a stash is.

Be proud.

Thing is Dad loves Lentils, my Mom...she’s a grandly cook.

Wish I had a scanner, I’d send a copy of the list.

Practically everything the man ate his whole life is on the “forbidden” side.

Guess he “stored” all he’d ever need in life potassium wise.

But, it’s true. Took him off all of the stuff he was eating and his potassium levels dropped to normal. Go figure...
