The Maine Secession Movement is now actively inviting

The Maine Secession Movement is now actively inviting Born Again Christians to move to Maine from other states.

As the secession vote on June 12, 2018 moves ever closer, the Maine secession Movement is now actively encouraging Born Again Christian families in other states to put their property and business up for sale and move to Maine. This is being done in advance of the next release of the proposed Constitution for the Republic of Maine which will take effect immediately upon a successful vote for secession on June 12, 2018. This next release will include a section detailing how the entire border of Maine with both Canada and the United States, must be secured by Militia members and their families, resulting in nearly every square foot of land on the border being deeded over to members of the Militia who will live on the border, these parcels will range in size between 500 acres and 1500 areas.

A second reason is that we believe that as more and more, who will vote for secession, will move into Maine while more and more, who oppose secession, will start selling out and moving to other states where big government will remain. As an example, since education is reserved to the family first and then the local community with the State and the Counties explicitly denied any roll in education, we would expect that many NEA members will leave, all of the MEA staff will have no roll and will need to either leave or find gainful emplyment. Since welfare is non existent and is explicitly denied to any and all governments, but reserved to the churches and societies, we can think of no reason anyone currently on welfare will want to stay in Maine nor will there be any state positions for anyone now working in any of the welfare offices or bureaus.

To help Born Again Christians make their decision, below is the parts of the proposed Constitution that are now done. For additional information or help in locating property in Maine, please email freemaine at hushmail.com with "relocation" in the subject line.

Proposed Constitution of the Republic of Maine

PREAMBLE. We the people of the Republic of Maine, in order to establish justice, insure tranquility, provide for our mutual defense, promote our common welfare, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of liberty, acknowledging with grateful hearts the goodness of the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe in affording us an opportunity, so favorable to the design; and, imploring God's aid and direction in its accomplishment, do this twelfth day of June, in the year of our Lord 2018, by majority of the people voting do agree to form ourselves from henceforth into a free and independent Christian Nation, by the style and title of the Republic of Maine and do ordain and establish the following Constitution for the government of the same.

Article I. Declaration of Rights.

Section 1. Natural rights. All people are born equally free and independent, and have certain natural, inherent and unalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing and protecting property, and of pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness.

Section 2. Power inherent in people. All power is inherent in the people; all free governments are founded in their authority and instituted for their benefit; they have therefore an unalienable and indefeasible right to institute government, and to alter, reform, or totally change the same, when their safety and happiness require it.

Section 3. Religious freedom; all Christian sects are equal; religious tests prohibited; religious teachers. All individuals have a natural and unalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no person shall be hurt, molested or restrained in that person's liberty or estate for worshiping God in the manner and season most agreeable to the dictates of that person's own conscience, nor for that person's religious professions or sentiments, provided that, that person does not disturb the public peace, nor obstruct others in their religious worship; all persons demeaning themselves peaceably, as good members of the State, shall be equally under the protection of the laws, and no subordination nor preference of any one Christian sect or Christian denomination to another shall ever be established by law, nor shall any religious test be required as a qualification for any office or trust, under this State; and all religious societies in this State, whether incorporated or unincorporated, shall at all times have the exclusive right of electing their public teachers, and contracting with them for their support and maintenance. Christian leaders, pastors and teachers are encouraged to keep their charges, congregations, students, etc informed of what the government is doing from the pulpit, in private and public conversations, debates or conversation in general. No law is to be passed that limits the rights of Christian participation, leadership, or criticism of the government of Maine, the counties, or the local municipalities. All public meetings are to open with the Lords prayer and close with a Christian benediction thanking the Lord for the preceding and imploring His safety for all leaving the meeting.

Section 3a. Business closed on Sunday. Since it would not be possible for the Republic of Maine to secede and be free without the will and Divine help of the Lord God of Creation, and since the Lord God of Creation clearly states that in six days He created the heavens and the earth and all that is them and on them, and that He rested on the seventh day, the people of the Republic of Maine shall, as a Christian nation, in deep and abiding gratitude to God Almighty, the Trinity, the Creator, allow no businesses any where within the borders of the Republic of Maine, other than those exempted in section 3b, to open on the Sundays from midnight to midnight.

Section 3b. Businesses exempt from Section 3a. Since God in the form of the Lord Jesus, did on numerous occasions in the New Testament, heal on the Sabbath day, we therefore declare that those businesses that are necessary for human life, such as hospitals, pharmacies, and doctors offices may be open on Sundays, but only to offer services and products necessary for human life, products that could not wait till Monday. The Legislature, shall after notifying and consulting with Christian pastors, determine a list of businesses that shall be allowed to open on Sunday in a strictly voluntary manner. No public celebrations, games, or parties shall be allowed on the Sabbath and may not be exempted.

Section 4. Freedom of speech and publication; libel; truth given in evidence; jury determines law and fact. Every citizen may freely speak, write and publish sentiments on any subject, being responsible for the abuse of this liberty; no laws shall be passed regulating or restraining the freedom of the press; and in prosecutions for any publication respecting the official conduct of people in public capacity, or the qualifications of those who are candidates for the suffrages of the people, or where the matter published is proper for public information, the truth thereof may be given in evidence, and in all indictments for libels, the jury, after having received the direction of the court, shall have a right to determine, at their discretion, the law and the fact.

Section 5. Unreasonable searches prohibited. The people shall be secure in their persons, houses, papers and possessions from all unreasonable searches and seizures; and no warrant to search any place, or seize any person or thing, shall issue without a special designation of the place to be searched, and the person or thing to be seized, nor without probable cause -- supported by oath or affirmation.

Section 6. The Militia and the standing army of 1,000. So as to insure and guarantee the rights guaranteed in this Constitution, every natural born male in the Republic of Maine, upon reaching the age of 18 years from conception through age 67 years from conception, has, as a member of the Militia, the obligation to keep and bear arms for the common defense, for his and his families protection, to defend against this government or any government in the future from becoming oppressive, tyrannical, or in any other way obnoxious to freedom, and to secure the rights written in this Constitution. This obligation shall never be questioned. No law shall be passed that restricts this obligation, except for time in a local jail, county jail or Maine Republic prison. No law shall be passed, test given, or fee assessed to any citizen of the Republic of Maine that would restrict in any way that citizens right to be armed either concealed or open. Males who are found to be or confess to being homosexuals are exempted from serving in either the Militia or the standing army. Males over the age of 65 may be voluntary members of the militia with the full rights of Militia members. Natural born males between the age of 16 years from conception to 18 years from conception may volunteer for militia service with the written permission of parents or guardians. The standing army of 1,000 shall be drawn from the militia by the commander of the Militia and is under the command of the commander of the militia who is appointed by and reports directly to the President.

Section 7. All human life is precious and a gift from God. Age is counted from the moment life begins, which is at the moment of conception and as such, all human life is protected from conception to death and has the full rights of this Constitution from conception. Any citizen of the Republic of Maine may use what ever force he or she deems necessary to protect human life. All abortions are considered first degree premeditated murder, children are entrusted, by God the Creator to that child's parents and as such are the responsibility of the parents, not the state, no level of Government whether local, county or Republic is to, in any way, over rule a parent in the rearing, educating, and/or influencing that child in any way.

Section 7a. Education. All education is left to the local community, to the parents first and foremost and then to the city, town or community in which the family resides. The counties and the Republic are explicitly denied any role in a child's education with the exception of Militia members while on duty and prisoners while in the care of the county jail or prison of the Republic. The first and foremost responsibility to teach a child Religion, obedience, patriotism, loyalty, righteousness, and to be a productive member of society rest squarely upon the shoulders of the parent(s), the local communities role is to support and reinforce that parental responsibility.

Section 8. Land use ordinances.

Because the federal Constitution supersedes all state constitutions and acts, no provision of the Maine Constitution can give effect to any secession.

Of course, the Maine Constitution only pertains to changing the form of Maine's state government, and does not pretend to any power of secession.

Again, I have been unable to find any legal provision for the supposed June 12, 2018 referendum.

Again, you are arguing in the abstract by conflating two opposites, Islam and Christianity, into one thing: religion; when in fact they could not be more different to Christians. And since this invitation is for born again Christians, what is the point of saying that the religious restrictions are onerous, when they are what a self-selected group wants?

You don't want to live like that -- I get it. So don't live there. Simple. Unless, of course, you are a Maine resident. Then, you would have to choose. Now, it is Christians who have to go underground as employees or employers, and even as neighbors and civic participants, even though Christian values were effectively the social norm just a few years ago.

I do suggest you ask a woman, any woman, whether she would rather wear a burka or forego shopping on Sunday. I think you would find that there is a big difference.

As a person into my seventh decade, I can tell you that I lived half my life under "blue laws", where many businesses closed down on Sundays, but an essential skeleton stayed open or operated on reduced hours. It was wonderful. It truly was a day of rest. Our main pastime was spending time with family members. We prepared for it as a matter of habit, shopping ahead or gassing the car up with the Saturday errands.

Sunday was a deep physiological rest, because it was quiet that day, without the roar of traffic and the buzz of electricity in shopping areas, and the more or less reverent attitude until late in the afternoon. I haven't heard quiet like that on the East Coast ever since, except for the few days after 9/11 when all air traffic was halted and people hunkered down. Now, you can't even sleep in on Sundays if you are an atheist, because of all the lawn mowers, edgers, leaf blowers, thumper cars, other people's house parties, trucks and SUVs, sports events, and so on; and bosses don't even let vacationing employees off the digital hook at any time. I have seen many members of the nation's most privileged generation start dying young from stress.

Again, a distinction without a difference. YOU are making the rules. YOU are restricting freedom. "You cannot shop on Sunday" is EXACTLY the same as "You must wear a burka"

I”m not the one promoting this specific movement. I’ve been posting about it theoretically because I’m intrigued by the concept and would like to see it happen somewhere, somehow: that Christians can legally live the way they traditionally did until the Marxist cultural revolution enacted by our courts, and now a rogue regime, over the past 60 years.

It really isn’t. And why do you care, since you wouldn’t want to live in such a community? No one would make you live there.

yes it is. Explain, in plain english, how "You cannot shop on Sunday" is different from "You must wear a burka"

you are restricting freedom for religious reasons. You are no different than the Taliban.

You are arguing for universal multikulti libertarianism, and labeling it freedom. I am exploring the possibility of a territory that legally provides the environment for freedom IN CHRIST. You and others who share your point of view would still be free to live however you want in a place that will allow you to live however you want.

At present I and other Christians like me are not free to live how we want, because we get labeled Taliban or bigot by people who have lost — or who never found — their boundaries, and who do not understand the concepts of individual liberty (it’s a two-way street), free markets, freedom of association and the republic form of strictly limited government.

You are obfuscating.

Let's try again - Explain, in plain English, how "You cannot shop on Sunday" is different from "You must wear a burka"

I know you can't, so that is why you avoid a simple question. You are a "christian" Taliban. You make rules that restrict freedom, for your view of religion.

So you believe when Christ said "This is my body" do you believe "Is" means is? I do. If I believe differently from you, am I allowed in your territory?

Vermont has its own secessionist group.”

The Free State Project is in New Hampshire and is still actively working to recruit people. They are also not looking to sucecced, but to control their destiny as a state.

June 12, 2018 would be the date of our primary election for 2018. They would expect less voters at a primary than a general election. They would have to time their petetiton process to hit that date correctly.

Explain, in plain english, how "You cannot shop on Sunday" is different from "You must wear a burka"

Are you kidding me right now? If you can't envision the objective difference in those two things in the context of being a female, there may be no use in trying to rephrase it; but here goes:

You could shop on Sunday. You simply would have fewer choices, because only a skeleton crew is open for emergency necessities like medicine or baby formula. And due to the widely promulgated civic education, a citizen of the RoM would understand that "blue laws" are a gift shared among citizens to provide most people in the community a day of deep rest and family time.

Wearing a burka, by contrast, is the compulsory dictate of a murder cult that imposes a choiceless shaming and chattel status on women at the point of a sword. The burka tells women that they are a source of evil and must not be seen. It's not even mentioned in the Quran. It is a depersonalizing cultural imposition by an ultra-repressive shari'a cult within Islam that is using the burka to reinforce male tyranny, superiority and license to beat, rape ad "honor kill" women and girls.

A secession leaves its host for a reason. The RoM group (of which I am not an associate or member in any way, but merely a commentator about it) envisions seceding in order to reconstruct a Christian society. Theoretically, they could only secede with a strong majority who accept the terms outlined above, and would view a Sunday shutdown as a positive value. Minority residents who do not want to observe the day as a Christian Sabbath could simply take it as a bonus restful day; those who absolutely could not withstand a Sunday shutdown could migrate to the USA when the two nations separate -- that's called partition, and it was done when muslim Pakistan was carved out of Hindu India in the 1940s -- millions moved from one area or the other according to religion.

FYI, we still have blue lawa in Maine. Car dealers cannot be open on Sunday. The state controls the distribution and price of liquor. There are others things I can not think of at the moment.

No.

Sure you will. Your Section 3 says: "All individuals have a natural and unalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no person shall be hurt, molested or restrained in that person's liberty or estate for worshiping God in the manner and season most agreeable to the dictates of that person's own conscience, nor for that person's religious professions or sentiments, provided that, that person does not disturb the public peace, nor obstruct others in their religious worship..." while your reply 18 says: "...Maine be a Christian nation but will not prohibit other religions, with the exception of Islam." How can you have it both ways?

Quite obviously this is a fool's errand, but the conceit of the thread is that we should ignore the impossibility of the scheme.

This idea is even nuttier than the 'Free State Project' in neighboring Red Hampshire. I have lived in Maine, and there is no way in hell I would even THINK about moving there. If you want fellowship with Christians, you do NOT head north into a region known for despising Yehovah.

Hope you like seafood and potatoes, because that will be dinner pretty much every night.
