Remember Mississippi!!
CoWorker's Letter to Politicians | 6/27/14 | Married With Children

Remember Mississippi

I was born and raised in Mississippi. I lived there for forty-two years before moving to Tennessee for work. I grew up with racism and abhor it in all of its forms. I detest politicians who use it as a wedge to separate our citizens to further their career. This tactic, in my experience, has always been used by the Democrat party and has been one of the primary reasons that I could never vote for a Democrat. I have voted straight ticket Republican since I was eighteen at every election. I have actively attempted to persuade people for almost forty years to vote Republican. Thad Cochran and the Republican Party have changed that now. The hateful tactics of lies and fear mongering employed by the Republican establishment in the Mississippi Republican runoff election sicken me. To alienate over 50% of your constituents using lies and race baiting have convinced me that I am no longer represented by the Republican Party and will not support anyone associated with the use of such tactics. Thad Cochran, Haley Barber, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lamar Alexander, Bob Corker and many others, most of whom I have voted for at some point, will never have my support or vote again. No longer will I hold my nose and vote for a party because “not voting for me is a vote for a Democrat”. A once clear delineation between political parties has been erased and has convinced me that the Republican and Democrat Parties have now become one and the same. The Tea Party originated as an attempt by Americans of all races to save this great nation from the disastrous policies of Democrats that now seem to have received tacit approval by Republicans. I have resisted supporting a third party for years for fear of unwittingly electing Democrats. Since the merger of these two parties now appears complete, I now urge and actively support the formation of a National Tea party as a last resort to save this country from self-serving egotistical politicians who would destroy the very fabric that makes this country exceptional. Remember Mississippi, I do every day. L. Arnold

Line-breaks and paragraph returns are your friends.

Seminar letter writer?

Reminds me of those ‘seminar callers’ to Rush who begin their call with: “I’ve voted straight republican ticket every year of my life but...”

There’s a story out of the 7th District in Virginia today. The Republican leadership for the region has decided to send their money off to the national leadership...rather than pouring part of it into the new guy who beat Cantor, and his election in November. NOT one single dime will go to local politics in that district. Even if they’d said ten to twenty percent toward the local guy’s election efforts...it would have been at least “right”. In this case....NOTHING went local.

This was voted on by the Republican establishment of the state, from various cities and counties along the eastern side of the state. It really says alot about their character and their willingness to work to a public stance.

It’s this kind of behavior that sets wannabe Republicans apart from regular society.

So, yeah....send the wannabe guys home. I hate suggesting to vote Democrat....if it’s necessary, then fine.

I tyhink some form of this letter should probably be on FR's home page. Maybe Jim could compose his own version of it. What the letter writer makes clear is this:

"A once clear delineation between political parties has been erased and has convinced me that the Republican and Democrat Parties have now become one and the same".

This cannot be stressed enough. There are so many people on this site who go on about electing Republicans to keep the dems out, and how voting 3rd party "just means you voting for the dem", etc. There is no point in doing so if electing a Republican and electing a Democrat accomplishes the same thing.

This happened in MS but it was done with the help of old fossils from entrenched Washington insiders. It exposed what we thought for a long time.

IMO, the only shock is to what extent they would go to , to go against the wishes of the majority of PEPUBLICAN voters.

The Republicans in MS have been cheated by the GOPe.

I'm done with them. I'm done with the RNC.

I will not be voting for John Cornyn in Nov.

I'm not mad...I'm furious and ready to fight back!

I copied and pasted from his word document that was
complete with line-breaks and paragraphs.

*************

Apparently it didn’t have all the HTML coding in it for line breaks, Paragraphs, etc.
But something in your posting had one peice of HTML which then took all of the formatting
away since it wasn’t done using HTML.

You should repost using a < and then a p and then a > in front of each paragraph.

Never forget Mississippi! Never forget the treachery of the GOP or the corruption. We will remember in November!

I am sure at least hundreds of thousands in America feel that way. I am in your boat and will help you row!

Do they? I'm wondering because even though I feel like cutting off the GOP at its knees, I see lots of folks on here saying folks should still vote Thad Cochran in the general.

I’m also in TX and had long ago resolved that rather than vote for Cornyn, I’d leave it blank or vote third party. God help me, though, they’ve angered me nearly enough to vote Democrat against him.

This has happened to me but I have bigger things to worry about than line-breaks, paragraphs or why they are sometimes omitted when I post.
