Police say a large hatch of mayflies may have caused a three-vehicle crash on a Wisconsin road.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the road had become slick from the mayflies Sunday evening, causing at least one of the drivers involved in the crash to lose control of her vehicle. They also said visibility was limited at the time of the crash. Two people were injured in the crash, but only one person was taken to a local hospital.

It’s been such a cool spring that Mayflies are hatching in late July!
Must be Global Warming. . .
Little known fact, mayflies have the largest genitals compared to body weight of any animal.
Yes, that could cause slick roads.
TMI.
The trout should be very active.
They only have 24 hours from the time they hatch to do their thing before they croak. That’s why they have to advertise well.
Give them a break. They no long have the ability to eat and have only 24 hours left to live. It's the only thing tney're still able to do.

I fished along the Chena there for Grayling back in the 70’s. The best fishing in my life.
I wandered around his Pictures of Trout streams in Wisconsin. Its amazing how it can take you back. (I wasn’t even fishing.)
I had a pinnacle moment when I was 17. It was just off a county highway by a branch of the Upper Wolf river. It was summer, I laid down in the grass, looked up at a blue sky, and heard the sound of the stream. There was no traffic, there were no people anywhere. I saw a heron fly overhead and it was like being transported to another dimension. I have not experienced anything like it at any time since.
I just thought you should be in on this!
They were real bad two years ago too. Have the snowplows been out?
I’ve been out during the mayfly hatch up there. It can literally blot out the sun.
I cannot even imagine those conditions.
.
I’ve seen them call out snowplows to clear them. Literally millions of them dropping out of the sky and covering everything.
Oh, I’m on it, Baby!
One of the most wonderful weekends of my life was spent ‘Up Nort’ learning to fly fish. HUGE Oooey-Gooey Mayfly hatch that summer!
Say this in your ‘Ole & Lena’ Voice:
“Dem Trouts was just-a yumpin’ in mah waders, Yah!” LOL!
Thanks for thinking of me, Pete. *HUGS*
