Open Questions: How long before the IS (ISIS) Caliphate is recognized as a legitimate government?

How long before the IS (ISIS) Caliphate is recognized as a legitimate government? It took ten years or so for negotiations to start with the Taliban. Hamas is a terror group but the US and Israel "negotiates" with them all the time.
When will the Muslims of the world just go ahead and join the group (if you can't beat em, join em)? How long before the left begins protests against bombing or using any other military action against IS?

Good question. It will be a couple of days after they get through exterminating the Christians and other religious minorities.

ISIS is at least the equal of Nazism when it comes to inhuman viciousness. But they aren’t remotely equal to the Nazis when it comes to organizing a government or a society. ISIS is a human ebola virus that will quickly kill its host then die itself.

What made Nazism so dangerous is that it was grafted onto a large, modern, successful nation with a history of fielding powerful armies. Germany had a first world economy that could crank out world class weapons and invent new ones. The German general staff was the equal of any of their rivals.

Even if ISIS conquered the whole arab world, which they won’t, they would be trying to hold together dysfunctional and backward societies that have no history of cooperating with each other.

Idiot democrat liberals like Pelosi, Biden, and all the academic leftists will start coming out saying “there are legitimate grievances we must address.”

Juan McCain Al Arizoni already legitimized them with his little visit telling us “these are the good guys.”

Timeline... I think once Obama is finished with vacation the first democrat operatives will start accepting IS as legitimate and MSNBC will run with the story. Christians are expendable and the left doesn’t care how many are murdered by these savage islamists. BUT, once they start mocking the Obama [pbuh] they will start paying attention. But rather than fight, they will reach out to figure out what Bush did to piss them off and how it’s all the republicans fault because of the sequester.

Obama is already laying the foundation for formal diplomatic recognition of ISIL.

Notice how he very carefully and respectfully annunciates their name and the fact that nobody in the press is calling these guys terrorists.

Soon we will be hearing from the media that ISIL is the new Arab equivalent of George Washington and the American Revolutionary Army.

They have already pushed that same meme with the Muslim Brotherhood.

To see how it's done, google the articles American media's hard sell Muslim Brotherhood charm offensive from two or three years ago

Even if ISIS conquered the whole arab world, which they won’t, they would be trying to hold together dysfunctional and backward societies that have no history of cooperating with each other.

But you see, the islamic world came about precisely in that manner. A small group of depraved criminals following mohammed managed to conquer, bleed dry, and ruin the ages-old advanced civilizations around them. They were hated by everyone too. And after 1400 years the muslim world is still around, despite the dysfunctionality. Perhaps some demonic force holds it together. Along with a lot of help from the West.

“But you see, the islamic world came about precisely in that manner”

I know that. And a Caliphate could well arise and pull the world into a huge war. But it won’t be due to the murderous clowns running ISIS.

Mohammed didn’t have other Islamic crazies gunning for him, but ISIS does. ISIS has been successful in Iraq because Iraq never has been much of a nation. It’s always been a collection of mutually unfriendly tribes held together by a strongman. To take over Iraq ISIS would have to subdue the Kurds. That won’t be as easy as their previous fights. When ISIS runs into the Kurds they will finally hit something that will hit back.

If the Sunni crazies of ISIS ever did to take control of Iraq they would still have Shiite Iran sitting right on their border. Iran is much bigger and will take exception to ISIS’ claim of being the rulers of all Islam.
