Did you know that an estimated $41.7 billion - billion - is currently held in government unclaimed-property programs? Some of that unclaimed money could be yours.
Sound like a scam? It isn't, although some scam companies and individual scammers will try to charge you fees to recover it.
Warning: If someone asks for a fee to search for unclaimed money, don't pay. It's a free search.

Thank you for posting. I just found a few thousand dollars for my mother-in-law and $30 for my recently deceased father-in-law.
I found money owed to us, and the state wanted proof we had lived in an apartment 15 years ago (for about six months). Umm,yeah right.
Just found $3.00. In the 80’s, I got #3500 from an old annuity.

LOL. Last year I found I had $1.06 owed me. I told the comptroller to put it into a charity fund.

Odd. I didn’t stumble on anything that wasn’t legit, but I’m using several extensions with my browser to prevent pop-overs and other garbage.
