That’s amazing, LOL!

Cats invented agility...but when it comes to training, they usually have better things to do. :)

I have a young cat with waaaay too much energy (he harasses the other cats). I wonder what treats she uses? If I had enough patience (and treats) maybe I could train him and wear him out all at one time!

About the only trick my Baby-Cat would do is fetch balls.
I would sit in my office, and throw small Super Balls out of my office door. They would hit the doorframe of my front door, and, bounce into my living room. She would chase the ball into the room, catch it, and come back into my office, where she would drop it under my chair. that used to be fun.

I hear it is very difficult to train cats (to obey) compared to dogs.

Dogs will obey because they are people-pleasers, and also because as a species they have been domesticated much longer. Cats will not obey, but they will show off in exchange for treats of some kind. I trained a male cat to do tricks for bits of cheese, and trained two female cats to perform tricks in exchange for brushing their fur, which they loved. This trainability came in handy when they became old and developed illnesses requiring them to swallow pills every day.

My one cat could recognize over 90 words or figures of speech. She could exercise a lot of control over her environment and preferences for activities and food, because I would do things like let her choose which flavor treats she wanted. This involved letting her sniff-test as I announced the words "chicken", "fish" or "beef" every time, until she would respond only to my saying the name of the treat packages, and she would then touch the one she wanted with her paw. After many months of repetition of the mechanics of the house she could also respond to "helpful suggestions", such as "bump" -- to bump the door with her head if it was appeared closed but was not latched and she wanted to go through. This did not feel like obedience to her, it felt like I was assisting her to give her what she wanted.

The above video has been cut and spliced several times, since cats will only perform for just so long before they walk away, growl, scratch or bite; so a good trainer builds up their tolerance over time instead of demanding more than they are willing to give. You can also see the cat's tail whipping from side to side in some scenes, which is cats' warning that they've about had enough.

I had a tuxedo cat who was raised with german shepherds as a kitten and he acted like a dog. He would come when I called him, fetch stuff and bring it back to me. Coolest cat I ever had. My better half hates cats but liked that one.

Super video, terrific cat. I even like the music…”Shut up, You’ll never stop me, nothing you say can ever bring me down.”

This is Shut Up to those who say cats can’t be trained.

On the other end of the scale is "Too-Fat-To-Wanna-Move-Cat".

Hilarious photo.

The cat got used to it and, after a while, it might have even felt good.

Reminds me of the time my wife and I were walking through a park in Helsinki. A young woman was showing off her trained cats. They were climbing poles, jumping through hoops, and other displays of agility. Of course we put some money in the hat. It was enjoyable to watch.

Holy...! That’s pretty cool. Especially since it’s a bat.

I used to live at a spot where wild birds tended to trap themselves in an enclosed porch. It was too much hassle to catch them in order to turn them loose outside. I confess I let kitty do the catching, then forced him to release his prey into my hands. (Sorry, Crybaby, RIP) But it worked.
