A copper awl is the oldest metal object unearthed to date in the Middle East. The discovery reveals that metals were exchanged across hundreds of miles in this region more than 6,000 years ago, centuries earlier than previously thought, researchers say.

6000 years ago, 4000 years before Christ.
That IS old, even before the Egyptians.
Apparently OUR very own ancestors Homo sapiens sapiens evolved into what we are today around 200,000 years ago, in Africa.
THAT is even older.
So what we humans doing from 200,000 BC - 4000 B.C.? That is a HUGE chunk of time.

They counted the beads but the “The area was a village from about 5100 B.C. to 4600 B.C., and was first discovered in A.D. 1950, with digs taking place from the end of the 1970s up to the present day” is just an estimate. Never mind, my “there you go again with the date” will not be accepted. Actually, this article was close to the truth, but not close enough. These writers should just admit they really don't know what the date was and leave it at that.

It has also be learned that most of the copper used back then came from copper mines in North America.
