Have you looked at Spirit Airlines. Supposedly they don’t have reclining seats.

Yes, I do think. I try to get a window seat and I recline, so I can sleep on planes.

I was also always thoughtful when my kids were little. My kids never screamed (I gave them a bottle at take off and landing), and I made sure they never kicked other passengers. I took snacks, playdoh, and other activities for them. People use to comment about how well-behaved my kids were.

I never got to recline and sleep when I traveled with them, and maybe that is why I like to sleep now. It’s my break from 3 teenagers!

I still believe that it is common courtesy to ask the person behind you if they wouldn’t mind if you reclined your seat. I am certain that 90% of the time you will get a positive response. But don’t assume that just because your seat reclines that you have a right to put your head on another passenger’s knees. Planes that were designed to carry 80 people have been reconfigured to hold 130 passengers and there just isn’t room in most planes for you to recline without making it uncomfortable for the poor slob behind you.

Just treat others as you would want them to treat you.

Flying used to be an elite experience. Now it’s worse than riding Greyhound. That is the problem. You could not pay me to fly. What with the TSA molesting everyone now this? No way.

Just fly 1st class, or business class on overseas flights. I think the spacing is different. (So are the benefits. Long ago, on Pan American JFK to Narita, in 1st class they served Dom Perignon all the way --)

Yeah, just pay the extra 20 bucks to upgrade from Economy to Business on a transpacific flight, or the extra 50 bucks to upgrade to First Class.

Any long-legged person not wanting to get "knee-capped" ought to be willing to pay that.

Regards,
