Now some literally genetically modified human babies born that same year are entering their senior year of high school.

I remember how te natural born kid ended up being a better athlete than his GM brother. Genetic engineering is a scam, IMHO.

Interesting fact about GATTACA. A non genetically modified human beating the system is the hero of the movie.

It wasn’t that he was better physically, it was that he pushed himself harder to succeed - his determination was what pushed him further, over those who assume the right DNA is enough to get the perks of life.

It was a great flick. The last scene, where the crew boarded the spaceship wearing suits, showed it was all just symbolic.

If they’re talking about mitochondria being moved from one woman’s egg to another, that doesn’t have anything to do with human DNA. Mitochondria are microscopic organisms with their own DNA. They “infect” every human cell and provide the energy we need to live. But they have NOTHING to do with our DNA. They are in the woman’s egg and there is no component of the mitochondria from the male’s sperm.

Hence why I mentioned “got”, he was an overachiever. I wouldn’t mind betting that some non modified, determined individual could beat out a person who was entitled and was full of feeling entitled to succeed.
