Listen to Rosetta's comet 'sing': Scientists baffled by mysterious sounds recorded near 67P ...

Something strange is happening on comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko 67P as space engineers prepare for a historic landing: the icy space rock is 'singing'.

The mysterious sound has baffled scientists, who recorded it using a Rosetta instrument originally designed to analyse the comet's magnetic field.

Instead, this instrument picked up a strange bubbling sound which scientists believe was created by a stream of electrically-charged particles.

'This is exciting because it is completely new to us,' said Karl-Heinz Glaßmeier, principal investigator with Rosetta's Plasma Consortium.

'We did not expect this and we are still working to understand the physics of what is happening.'

I guess the “probe” that will land on the comet is due to separate from the Rosetta craft in about three hours. There is a live feed from the command center at the ESA site.

Here are the posting from Thunderbolts.info of the predictions of two of the Electric Universe cosmologists on what they anticipate will be found on the Rosetta Landing mission at Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

One of their predictions, #6, has already been proved true with the "baffled" discovery of the singing electromagnetic fields.

The Rosetta Mission Predictions — Thunderbolts.info, August 16, 2014

By David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill

Video from Electric Universe on Rosetta

After a 10-year journey, Rosetta spacecraft has now reached Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. It looks like the mission is going to be a goldmine for us.

Already one self evident prediction of the electric comet model has been confirmed: a spectacular, sharply ‘spark machined’ surface—just the opposite of what the “sublimating ices” model of comets would predict and a refutation of all published artistic visualizations of the comet prior to Rosetta’s arrival.

As most of our readers will know, the double-lobed form of the nucleus, similar to the observed forms of so many comets and asteroids, is no surprise to electrical theorists. Standard theory, on the other hand, must call upon repeated astronomical improbabilities (merging of two tiny and remote bodies in space) to explain these recurrent morphologies. If such improbabilities are common in a gravitational scenario, why no triple-lobed comets or asteroids?

While no electrical theorist would deny the possibility that a chunk of dirty ice could still be circling the Sun today, none expects substantial water-ice either on or below the surface of 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. More likely would be a possible localized dusting of frost as trivial levels of ice crystals, created electrochemically in the coma, drift to the surface.

Significant things to look for as the Rosetta mission continues:

  1. No evidence of subsurface ice at the sources of the jets;
  2. Virtually no interstellar dust, the second component of the “dirty snowball” theory;
  3. Discovery of minerals on the nucleus that are typical of planetary surfaces within the
  4. Habitable zone of the Sun; characteristic concentration of plasma jet activity eating away at the cliffs of elevated terrain and the margins of well-defined depressions;
  5. Measurable retreat of active cliff regions in the wake of this activity; and
  6. The presence of unexpected electric fields within the coma and/or close to the comet nucleus, possibly even disrupting the anticipated landing on the surface. This could occur on or after touch down because the sharp metallic edges of the spacecraft make an ideal focus for a diffuse plasma discharge, which would disrupt communications and possibly interfere with spacecraft electronics.

And, if a strong coronal mass ejection from the Sun strikes the comet, we expect the comet to respond electrically with a surge of activity, confirming that the jets are not due to warming from the Sun but to charged particle distribution in the electric field of the Sun.

If you’re wondering about the electrical theory, facts, and reasoning behind these expectations, it’s time to watch The Electric Comet documentary, along with the accompanying video on reported infrared readings of “water” from the Deep Impact event at Comet Tempel 1.

They just got the initial “go” for separation of the lander in @3hrs.

Nothing to be alarmed at Captain, it appears to be the
remnants of an aging Basketball player named Dennis Rodman.

#6 looks dicey.

Not when the orthodox cosmologists claim there are no charges in space. . . and that there should not be a flow of current. The very fact they have found such is a validation of #6. We shall have to see about the rest of the predictions in #6 and see how they will effect the landing. When Deep Impact approached Tempel 1, the Electric Universe cosmologists predicted a large discharge flash of lightning before the probe struck the comet because the two objects had far different electrical charges.

Such a bolt of electricity did indeed strike the probe, resulting in a "double flash," much to the "bafflement" of the orthodox scientists in charge of the mission, and blew out the probe's sensors microseconds before the impact. The same thing should be true of the differing charges Rosetta, its lander Philae, and 67P. The lander requires far more electronics to maneuver its landing than did the Deep Impact mission's impacter module needed to hit at 22,000 MPH. The exchange of electrons to balance the charges could blow out important electronics on the lander, crippling it, because the mission's scientists have not allowed for such an event, not believing in there being charge differentials in space. . . despite there being tons of evidence of charge flows in space literally everywhere we look.

OH, GAWD! MacMax, you owe me a new keyboard. . . or a cleaning bill. How do you clean diet Pepsi sputter and snort out of a keyboard? ROTCLMAO (the C is Couch). That was hilarious!!!

Accurate, too. . . Are we going to have to rename Tycho's Nebula the Rodman Nebula?

Thanks for the ping. A question for anybody that might know. From most accounts a comet is described as a dirty snowball; with no atmosphere or magnetosphere to speak of. So why doesn't the solar wind blow a comet to smithereens in short order and long before they ever approach the inner solar system?

So why doesn't the solar wind blow a comet to smithereens in short order and long before they ever approach the inner solar system?

A better question is what would make a comet out beyond the orbit of Mars suddenly start outgassing "water vapor" i.e. "steam" when the temperature is still far below the melting point of ice, much less the boiling point, even in a vacuum, even the triple point. Why would they come close to grazing the Sun and still survive as a "dirty snowball" to make multiple passes as we know Halley's Comet has and still make a spectacular show? And, as you say, why were they not blown to smithereens, or sublimated to nothing by the vacuum of space causing them to outgas on their own at the triple point (to directly to gas, never stopping at the liquid stage). It makes no sense.

Here we have a body that has craters indicating it has been hit at high velocity by another object. The sheer mechanical energy should have generated sufficient heat to have melted any "ice" near the crater, but there are no signs of such molten materials. Instead we see jagged edges and broken rock. No ice, no water, no dirty snowball.

We DO, however, see material that looks exactly like the remnants left from "electrical machining" where material is carried off by the discharge of electrons.

Comets are not the only astronomical objects with tails:
Galaxy 3C 129 with a 1.5 million light-year long plasma tail.

Earth and all of the other planets have cometary plasma tails as well. . .

As for charges not being in space:

Io is in close orbit with Jupiter, so intense electromagnetic radiation bombards its surface, removing approximately one ton per second in gases and other materials. Io acts like a generator as it travels through Jupiter’s plasmasphere. More than four hundred thousand volts at three million amperes of current flows into the electric environment of Jupiter from Io.

The above is a measured current flow.

So the dirty snowball notion is another one of those WAG's by the "experts" that, while looking more and more improbable, just won't go away. Seems to happen a lot...

I haven't been to the Thunderbolts site in a while but I'd bet a couple of bucks their considerable brain power will yield more accurate predictions than the space "experts".

Admitting electrical charges and EM space opens up a huge can of physics worms, validating possibilities like spacecraft that draw power from space EM fields, anti-gravity EM systems, gravity itself as an EM effect, and scalar power sources and weapons and rotating planetary EM field that can be tapped as power sources (perhaps by giant stone pyramids with alternating layers of variably conductive types of stone, for example).

Therefore, it doesn’t exist.

We know that there is about a 100 volt differential for every three feet of altitude, but we can't figure yet how to tap into that potential. . . nor how to find much amperage there. . . but the force is there.

Well if there’s a dangerous charge differential, maybe it would be safest not to let the lander touch for more than a moment, rather than use a thruster to force it down and it can get seriously fried.

Oh look, the landing thruster did not come online before separation, and now they have to depend upon the ice screws alone to hold the lander to the surface. Well that might be a... lucky break, shall we say? Now they can check the scale of any discharge with a brief touchdown, and then if it looks safe, maybe the thruster can... somehow... be brought online for a second try if necessary...

LOL...

If NASA doesn’t pretend there’s water out there, it undermines the search for “life”.

They are also the prostitutes of “Global Warming”.

They don’t have to believe it, just be happy to cash the check to go look.
