Police had to get physical with a number of Black Friday shoppers who refused to let go of discounted Samsung televisions during a fight at a Walmart in Texas. Cell phone footage of the brawl has gone viral after it was posted on YouTube and shows authorities having to forcibly remove shoppers who were lying on top of the giant 50 inch TVs. On sale for $218, the televisions were part of the Stafford store's One Hour Guarantee Promotion on Thanksgiving.

My daughters drag me out on Thanksgiving night, it’s become a ritual for them, we hit the Target store in the nicest part of town, it’s a friendly crowd.

Just a fancy coffee pot for those that seem to want a lot of variety in their coffee and only one cup at a time. Price of the K-Cups is ridiculous. But then what do I know, I’ve had the same Mr. Coffee pot for at least ten years and drink nothing but Folger’s all day and well into the evening.

Those Black Friday mob scenes are a very mild foretaste of the total breakdown of civility if a true national disaster ever happens. Blood will run in the streets. If you wait to go shopping after disaster strikes, you are too late.

I went in at 5:00 for the 6:00 pm deal on the TV at our local WallyWorld...got to talking dragracing cars with the guy ahead of me so the time went by pretty fast. The line started moving at 6 and I was in the checkout lane at 6:09 had the tv loaded up by 6:15 and was on the highway home by 6:20. Not a bad deal :)

You can get little K cup sized baskets on the cheap. Load them up with your bulk coffee and brew. I’ve been doing this for several years. Saves a lot of wasted half pots of coffee.

This is directed to all of us. Call me Scrooge but I think Americans would be better served to tell the merchants to stuff their Christmas (that can’t be called “Christmas”) hype and greed where the sun doesn’t shine..

We’d all be better off doing something kind and helpful for others, than wasting our money buying Chinese stuff that we usually don’t need just to impress others that could care less.. Most of what we spend ends up as debt to China and less for our retirement. I hate to see Americans led around by propaganda and advertising.

Most waffles aren’t too good also.

Waffles are like hot dogs - the main entree isn't so good by itself, it's what you drown it with that makes it good...

I told my husband I would rather stay home, order stuff online, even if I had to pay DOUBLE! Have it delivered to my front door... in order to avoid Black Friday sales!~ LOL

A prime example of wisdom, IMHO.

Black Friday has become just another outing for the gibzmedat mobs. No need to mix with the likes of them under any circumstance and worth paying a premium to avoid.

The day WalMart offers a black friday special on a 50” TV with built-in waffle maker is the day their stores burn down.

Re the Keurig. Apparently it’s buyer beware time. The new unit was delivered by UPS and after it was wrapped and placed under the tree received some disappointing news. Apparently Keurig is really upset because of the drop in sales of their K Cups for use in their pots. Surely wouldn’t be because their particular brand is the most expensive of all that are available. Because of this they have announced that only the K Cups bearing the Keurig logo will work in the unit I just purchased. So it was off to a local store with the new Keurig one and replaced it with another brand.

Keurig states that they are modifying their K cups after January 1 to make sure that they are the only one which will work in even their older units. Apparently the unit will punch a hole in the top of the K cup but water will not flow through. Really disappointing.

Get yourself a high quality stainless steel thermos and pour the fresh brewed coffee in it. The coffee stays hot and drinkable throughout the day and if any is left over jut nuke it till hot.

As you can see, I never waste coffee. I am down to just one 12 cup pot a day now and many times have a cup for the next morning to drink while the fresh pot is brewing. A few years ago I drank two 12 cup pots a day.
