Stop lying about the cops

By Rich Lowry

We have heard a lot lately about tensions between the police and the communities that they serve, and the urgent need to reduce them. Here’s an easy first step: Stop lying about the cops. The “national conversation” about race and policing we’ve been having ever since Michael Brown was shot by Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo., last summer has been based on lies. The lie that Officer Wilson shot Brown while he had his hands up and was pleading “Don’t shoot.” The lie that New York City policemen targeted Eric Garner for a violent arrest because he was black.

Do racists base their dislike of blacks solely on the color of their skin? If so, I wonder how they feel about penguins?

New Yorkers, as liberal as they are, were asleep at the switch when they elected this self-avowed communist as mayor. Socialism and communism sound good on paper and in the liberal classrooms, but having to actually live under these type regimes, brings out a different story. People are shocked to find out that it isn't the utopia they were sold. It's only good for the elitists in pawer. The man on the street is oppressed.

It should be no surprise to anybody, especially New Yorkers, that DeBlasio is anti-police. He ran his campaign with anti-police rhetoric. One of his closest aides got caught tweeting anti-cop and racist comments and was forced to apologize but not resign. Why? Because her boss, DeBlasio agreed with her.

Merry Christmas.

Trayvon Martin ... justified. Michael Brown justified BUT Eric garner ... that cop should be sitting in jail waiting for trial.

We need to institute race shaming. Announce the race of all crime perps when first released and allow all the statisticians to take note and report on disproportionate race statistics. If any.

At the same time have zero tolerance for cops that make these stupid aggressive decisions.

NYC under General Dinkins was a filthy crime riddled nightmare.

There were neighborhoods that were “no go zones” for normal people.

In the early 1990’s I had a company vehicle when it broke down on the Cross-Bronx expressway. We were told by corporate to exit the vehicle, take our personal valuables and get a taxi out of there as quickly as possible. We started walking out to the nearest exit which was Clay Road. It was risky to be on foot anywhere in that area at that time, and taxi service was...questionable. Within minutes of leaving the vehicle the theives started stripping it. In an hour most of it was gone. We drove by it the next day, it was flipped over on it’s roof and there was literally nothing left but the unibody substructure. That you could strip a vehicle in full public view was normal in those times. Never forgot that. One of a thousand experiences in NYC that I would like to forget bit can’t

Rudy cleaned up NYC and made it a nice place to be. DeBolshevik will take it back to the days of Dinkins.

His real name is Warren Wilhelm, Jr., which he did not change to DeBlasio until he was in his forties. Obviously, this communist changed his name for two reasons. There are a lot more Americans of Italian descent rather than German descent in NYC although the vast majority vote Republican. Second, he didn’t want to be known as the name of another simpleton, Kaiser Wilhelm.

That is crazy. How far did you have to go on foot before you got a taxi?

Any truth to the rumor that de Blasio is changing his name again?

Ex-mayor has a nice ring to it.

Things like this could turn DeBlasio into a one-term mayor at the rate he’s going.

In a sane world, I would say that would be true. We don't live in a sane world anymore.

I saw a recording of the speech where DeBlasio said the statement, “... centuries of racism”.

I remember being upset about that statement because IT’S JUST A FLAT OUT LIE.

But .. the current crop of democrats/liberals don’t seem to have any qualms about lying and lying and lying .. even if we tell them we KNOW they’re lying.

However, I do believe more “thinking” people are starting to put the facts together.

I’ve been saying this for a long time: “The purpose for all this upheaval is to foment RIOTS ALL OVER AMERICA. Why you ask ..?? SO THIS CURRENT ADMIN CAN DECLARE MARTIAL LAW AND SUSPEND ALL ELECTIONS.”

Somebody besides me better figure this out pretty soon.

Right after Wilhelm got elected mayor of NYC, I heard that he had expressed presidential ambitions.

He's changed his name twice, first to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, adding his mother's maiden name. In 2000, he dropped both the Warren and Wilhelm and added Bill, to become Bill de Blasio.

I don't know why he changed his name, twice, but I think it was to hide his history with the communist Soviet Union and the Marxist Sandinistas. He was planning his future as a politician and needed to shed some of his radical past.

People who changed their names, twice, are hiding something or have a very low self-esteem and opinion of themselves. People like Obama, who spent millions of dollars to seal and/or destroy all of his historical documents and documentation of his past, are hiding their past for political reasons. They are examples of the liberal left's deceit and dishonesty, worming their way into office under cover of outright lies.

with the exception of politics where the idiot percentage is much higher.

I would say the ratio is inverse for politicians. 90% corrupt, with a few Ted Cruz, Mike Lee types in the tiny minority.

But, but...if the cops are defanged, what will poor Peter Gelb, of the Metropolitan Opera, do the next time he puts on an anti-Semitic opera?

At the opening night of “Death of Klinghoffer,” the neighborhood, and the opera house, were crawling with cops, to protect the Met patrons from those marauding, barbarous Jews who disapproved of Mr. Gelb’s operatic taste.

Who will protect the Met audience when Mr. Gelb decides to stage “Springtime for Hitler” or celebrate the next production of Meistersinger with a rendition of the Horst Wessel song? Oh dear, oh dear.

“BUT Eric garner ... that cop should be sitting in jail waiting for trial.”

What, are you some kind of NUT? We had a trail - Nuremberg to assign responsibility/punishment to people who enforce the law of the land.

Where do we start - DeBlasio, the N.Y. City police commissioner, etc. for asking/demanding the poor slob on the street enforces the strict collection of high TAXES of the dumb ass population that voted for these idiots?

Reminds me of a sci-fi story where politicians in the future focus group tested politicians from history, then got plastic surgery and a name change before running.

One election I remember from the story was Geo. Washington vs. Abraham Lincoln in 2050 or so.

You can tell how long ago this story was written, the author thought people would still respect our founding fathers in 2050.

Intriguing story which I thought was a real stretch ...

I have to say, at least 90+% of police officers, Sheriff’s deputies and other LEO are not only outstanding in their jobs, but oh so professional in their conduct. That other 1 - 10% though, sure make it hard for the others.

There are good cops, and there are a few bad cops

There are good doctors and a few bad doctors

There are good teachers and there are a few bad teachers

There are good priests and there are a few bad priests

There are good freepers and there are a few bad freepers

(See where I'm going with this.)

A most Merry Christmas to all!!

Obama has been stirring up racial tension since he took office and the media has helped. The majority of the blame should go to them.

Welcome to Seattle. They are trying very hard to do the exact same thing. Thankfully the courts slapped them down on one of their attempts to disarm citizens.
