CRESTVIEW - A man refused to give officers his name after standing in the middle of traffic, telling officers that he was a sovereign citizen.
The 39-year-old man was seen standing in the road at the intersection of Bay Street and Cobb Avenue just after midnight on Dec. 17, according to the arrest report. When a Crestview Police officer asked him for identification, the man simply asked why.
When the officer told the man that he was obstructing traffic, the man refused to provide identification, the report said. The man said he was a sovereign citizen and didnt need to provide identification.
He then fled on foot, according to the report. He was eventually caught by another officer and, after a struggle, was arrested.
He still refused to provide his name, telling officers it was first name Civil Rights, last name Constitution, the report said. Officers were able to identify the man from previous dealings. Hes charged with resisting or obstructing an officer without violence, falsely identifying himself to a law enforcement officer and pedestrian obstructing or hindering traffic.
His next scheduled court date is Jan. 6.

Wonder what his FReeper name is?
It wasn’t me or DarkWing......................
THAT GIF is hilarious!
I knew a guy that I could picture pulling a stunt like this. Crackpot Green Peace / PETA / vegetarian type.
A mime is a terrible thing to waste......................
Self-proclaimed anarchist if I recall.
I see bestselling video game here! “Smack the Mime”
Marcelle is Marred-Sore!
OK, but wouldn’t “Rights” be his middle name?
Crackpots come in all shapes and sizes.
I’ve seen a few types around here that advocate this type of interaction with the police.
I can’t stop laughing!
I’ve dealt with them for years as a prosecutor and judge. The Republic of Texas “organization” spent several years filing spurious liens against various public officials, to the point that now, all public offices have a sign up that says it’s a felony to “knowingly file a false or misleading document”. The “motions” they file are incomprehensible pseudo-legal gobbledygook, with virtually no punctuation, and I’ve never had a single one (they all file “in pro per”, representing themselves) be able to explain anything in the motions they file. It’s actually sort of humorous...
Yeah! Those kind of FReepers better learn to lick boot leather, like any good subject or serf knows how to do.
Give 'em a few good licks, like the US Marshals gave Frein - grind their faces into the concrete, and curb-stomp their uppity azzes.
Reviewing the "charges" against the subject of the article, I'm at a loss as to what the guy actually did that was "against the law".
Good thing they got all those laws on the books to deal with uppity peasants like this one.
'Course, I'll bet Officer Chickenfeces gave Bill Clinton & Jon Corzine a complete pass - even though he witnessed both of them breaking the law.
Laws are for the little people:

No where is the term “civil rights” found in the U.S. Constitution, but the American people don’t know that.
Guess I’ve got the answer to my question in post 2.
lololol
Say, I was wondering - is it a felony to lie to a federal judge?
Or is it a felony to misappropriate a billion dollars or two in segregated shareholder funds?
Responsibility2nd: subject, jawohl!
LOL! :)
More like a slobberin’ citizen.
