RANCHO MIRAGE, California – Vice President Joe Biden, 72, reportedly entered the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California on Feb. 26. According to a source close to the chemical dependency recovery facility, the Vice President was escorted into the Center late Thursday evening by several members of the Secret Service and Dr. Jill Biden, the Vice President’s wife.
Biden’s official White House schedule makes no mention of an official event in or near Southern California, leading many to wonder if the the Vice President’s visit is because of a substance abuse or alcohol problem.
Biden’s recent headlines concern what some describe as his “erratic” behavior – a charge dismissed by close friends and associates – brushed aside with the comment That’s just Joe being Joe! Others say the odd conduct can only be described as “chemically fueled.”

In general, I’ve wondered whether it wouldn’t be good strategery for a 7th-year POTUS to “groom” a preferred successor by making them VP w/ around 2 years left — enough to get their feet wet (and line up the campaign resources). The medical scenario is as good as any; particularly in this case, given the current occupants.
This is incredible .. not really surprising .. knowing the Clintons.
So .. you really think this might be afoot ..??
But .. what if Biden just went there because of an illness; and the Betty Ford Center was the only “private” hospital close by to where the Biden’s were located at the time ..??
And .. by the way, who is running that Center now ..?? Betty is no longer alive. Could it be some personal friend of the Biden’s.
