"BUT ... I’m going to change my mind about a “watch” with the Apple Watch, not because I want to know the time, but because of the other things that it’s going to do for me."

If Apple can make a watch that cleans my house and does my laundry, I'll buy it in a minute.

Well, not the Apple Watch ... but depending on how well Apple does on the self-driving car ... that might be next! ... LOL ...

Just watched the release with Tim Cook as the emcee.

Several friends are getting them but, I don’t see their use in my life...

No, not an Apple employee and I’ve never been one, and neither have I worked with a vendor who either sells product or does services for Apple. My only connection with Apple is simply ... “they get my money” ... when I get their products ... LOL ...

I’ve been connected with Apple “in that way” since 1984 ... which, if you remember, was the introduction of the Apple Macintosh.

I was so glad to see Steve Jobs come back to Apple and really clean house and get rid of those ordinary corporate thinkers and start Apple back on the track of “thinking different”. And I know that Steve Jobs left Apple with probably about a decade’s worth of material to “work out” and get into the product lineup.

I just hope that Apple keeps it up the way it’s been going since Jobs turned it back around to where it was supposed to be.

As you can see, I’m just a happy Apple user ... of their products.

AND ... by the way ... I was programming computers and fiddling with technology as far back as 1966. I’m retired now and just hope they keep up the good work ... at least until I’m dead, anyway ... LOL ...

I’m slowly making my way through the Apple Event today, and I just got to the point of where Apple announced their new “ResearchKit” for helping health researchers expand the pool of participants in their research programs by making it a whole lot easier to enter into these programs and get a broader base for health research statistics. I think that’s ABSOLUTELY a great idea and I’m glad Apple is doing that with some very major health research institutions.

This is the kind of thing that I like seeing Apple do. They do stuff like this is a really big way ... and something like this (that health research kit) will really help medical researchers in a big way.

I guess I’m at an age where “that” (health issues) becomes a big part of my existence, as it seems to be when you’re approaching 70 ... :-) ... Kudos for Apple doing that!

What did you think about ALL THOSE CHINESE in those first few minutes?! Who would have thought that Apple would corner the Chinese Market and the Chinese right inside China itself would go absolutely wild over Apple Products?!

It’s really amazing to see Apple’s American technology infiltrating right into China ... LOL ...

Who doesn’t want American products?

No one.

If they can’t come here, they want anything American.

McDonald’s, Coke, Apple, even round eyes...

I’m glad that Apple is one of the companies that is going AGAINST the government’s policy of trying to gather every last single bit of information on people. I’m hoping that Apple can keep it up.

And I think Apple will, because Apple has made “Privacy” to be one of its key selling points for its ecosystem and apps and products.

If “time” is all you want, that’s a good choice for you.

However, if you haven’t figured it out yet ... the “Apple Watch” really isn’t a “watch” ... doncha know ... LOL ...

As a senior, I will be interested in the health apps. I heard, on the radio today, that there will be one to alert me when I have been sitting too long, and remind me to get up and move around a bit.

Whether I can afford the $ just to run that app is a whole ‘nother question. Maybe there will be more health related apps that would be useful.

My life in retirement doesn’t make many of the features all that important, but I can see how helpful it would be to those busy juggling jobs, kids’ sports schedules, and all the other mid-life responsibilities.

I could use it to call 911 if I should fall when walking my little dog, I wouldn’t have to haul my iPhone along with me, the dog, and the potty bags... having it on my wrist might be helpful in other situations too.

BUT ... it was amazing to see ALL THOSE CHINESE FACES at the LATEST Apple Store in China.

You are surprised that there are Chinese people in China?

I’m surprised that there are “that many” Chinese users of American technology ... and “that many” Apple Stores in China ... quite AMAZING! ... :-) ...

It is expensive, but if I didn’t have a watch that I love and have been wearing for the last 35 years, I might do it.

Doesn’t mean the product is great, but the concept sounds fun. To me, at least...:)

Hey, do you use MS Windows? Have you ever seen what causes Microsoft and Bill Gates give money to?

Am I likely to buy one? No.

With my iPhone and iPad i do not need a watch.

Now if it is a health monitor and better than the other options, perhaps.

The Apple watch is just as dumb as the Samsung SmartWatch. Or whatever they call it. I see zero need to have texts and emails pop up on my wrist that they can’t already do on my phone. It’s not hard to take my phone out of my pocket to look at it. Especially when that simple action saves me $350. Plus tax.

Besides, it’s not like Apple (or anyone else) is planning on adding a badass laser or lockpick or anything to their watches.

Like Subaru, Apple is the brand of the liberal.

Subarus are built in a NON-UNION plant here in solidly Republican Indiana.
