The Apple Watch Is Neat, But That Is All
Business Day Live ^ | April 23 2015, 12:42 UTC | Jeffrey Joslin

PEOPLE have been raving about the Apple Watch, so it is probably time for a rant from a devil’s advocate.

For starters, Apple’s smartwatch is neat, but that might be the only thing it has going for it. If the product’s intended function is providing you with around-the-clock health information, then there are a lot of roadblocks that need to be addressed.

Here are five: (...) 1. Battery life is as terrible as you would expect. 2. Too little screen for too much information. 3. It is too big. 4. Even the positive reviews are negative. 5. The Apple Watch could still fail. (...)

Nah, Dennis isn't "wrong". He's "right" -- but in an alternate universe. In his world, Apple fails. Simple.

It's very convenient to construct one's own "Reality". It avoid all that pesky trouble dealing with the one the rest of us live in.

I do think that the asylum should not let the patients have access to the internet.

Xiaomi will be coming out with a superior smartwatch. If I were you I would wait for this one. Don’t flush your money down the toilet on this bedeviled Apple Watch. Tim Kooks problems will become your problems.

What is it with you a crooked companies like Xiaomi who steal the Intellectual Property of others? Xiaomi (pronounced Show-Me) is not going to come out with a "superior smartwatch" anytime soon. They don't have the technology to steal from anyone to do it. . . and the Android smartwatches don't even compete anywhere near the size and capabilities of the Apple Watch (The Samsung Gear S is 75% larger and twice as heavy in the same materials). So, you are back to lying again. Why open your mouth and lie, when keeping your mouth shut is also an option?

. . . major enemies xiaomi and Lenovo are nipping at their heels

Lenovo isn't even in the running. . . and Xiaomi hasn't even gotten out of the starting gate. Step away from the keyboard, Dennis. You are a danger to yourself and others. Call the ward nurse and tell him your meds are wearing off.

Like i said.... The CRApple watch will not be accurate as a blood oximeter. Does not have the right contact with the wearer

It's amazing. Dennis doesn't know a thing about SpO2 readings but he suddenly knows everything to know about blood oximeter readings and testing. Of course, he is lying. Again. is there anything Dennis will not lower himself to not lie about when Apple is involved?

read your comments in this thread and then think how you have reacted. One would think you either have shares with Apple or you are Cook’s homosexual boy friend.

Get over it some of us don’t like Apple

So you are an investor in Apple, OK that makes sense why you are responding like you are.

Apple is crap and I don’t want to be paying for everything as it is a rip off.

Get over it investor.

I'd bet not. The fingertip oximeter is going to be in constant, direct contact with a smooth skin surface over a very vascular area.

The watch is on a strap that's going to have a permit a varying range of contact depending on how tight the user wears it, and over an area that's not nearly as vascular and might or might not be covered with hair.

We don't have any metric on the watch accuracy yet so it's all speculation at this point, but the fingertip meter is going to have the advantage of much better test conditions.

Sword maker has to be an employee of Apple with the way he or she is acting like a drama queen.

I have multiple time attested to the fact that I am NOT nor have I ever been an employee of Apple. Give it a rest Apple Hate Brigade Members.

I have frequently and often told all of you why I post Apple threads and on them. There are more than 700 of your fellow FreeRepublic members who have ASKED me to do it. I maintain the Apple/Mac/iPhone/iPad/iOS Ping list for the Apple interest group on FreeRepublic. Just like dayglored maintains the Microsoft/Windows Ping list for that interest group on FreeRepublic. That is the only reason. I am independently wealthy enough that I do not have to worry about any particular stock in which I have investments. I own a couple of businesses, I own rental properties. My income is NOT related to my appreciation of Apple devices and computers. Take a hint from Jim Robinson who posted just the other day before he ZOTTED another Freeper who kept up this line of Apple Advertising idiocy:

"And for the record, we have no advertisers and we take no “corporate money.” Swordmaker posts articles that he and his ping list members enjoy reading. I sincerely doubt he’s paid to do so and I can guarantee you that I am not. You may ignore the threads you don’t like if you wish. — Jim Robinson

Jim Robinson is the final word on this, not either of you. Give it a rest. Take his advice: Ignore the threads you don't like! That means not posting negative, nasty accusatory comments about the people who do post and enjoy those threads.

Every user of Apple products that comes on a thread like this and says that they like and buy Apple products is, at one time or another, accused of being employed by Apple.

It seems that some people have such ratty electronic products that they think no one else has anything better (like Apple products) ... so they claim anyone praising Apple products must be paid by Apple ... LOL ...

Happy customers talk it up a lot! ... :-) ...

So where are the Apple Watch user manual translations into Chinese and other languages? I was right. There are none!

No, DennisW, you are not right. They are accessible from the Apple Websites in those countries. You cannot access an Apple Store for China from the United States and vice versa. Same issue for their tech support sites. There are regulatory, customs, and import reasons for those restrictions. Just because you cannot find them does not mean they do not exist.

Here you go. . . look here:

Apple's Chinese Website

You will find the Chinese Apple Watch Manual there, if you can read Chinese. . .

Now cut out your lying propaganda.

Trust me. You've made us well aware of it. The big question is why are you spewing your dislike in an Apple thread if you are so disliking of Apple? Why not just skip over Apple threads? Go on to something you like? If I don't like a food, for example, I don't put it in my mouth and start telling everyone at the table how horrible it is, keep chewing and complaining, spitting pieces of it all over the diners. I just leave it on my plate, or don't order it in the first place. In other words, Manc, why are you in this thread making a nuisance of your self?

Certainly not my quote but thanks anyway.

Who ever said it was YOUR quotation. It is a quotation for you to listen to and take to heart. . . from the OWNER of this website, Jim Robinson. What is it about you Apple Haters that makes you so think-headed? He was quite explicit. If you don't like a thread's topic, skip over it. Don't participate in it. Go on to something you are interested in.

http://www.apple.com/es/support/

Here is the Apple website for Spain. I was able to find iPad manuals very quickly but not for the Apple watch.

Navigating a Chinese website is beyond me but not one in Spanish

How is that crappy watch going to read blood O2 levels? Where are the sensors in it? The watch can prolly function as a dumb display for an external pulse oximter. But due to the anality at Apple I doubt there are any places to plug in things. So the next step is an external pulse oximeter that blue tooth connects to the CRApple watch
