Road Rage Camaro Driver Causes A Big Crash In New York (video)

YouTuber Tim Linton, who had just installed a dash-cam on his vehicle the previous day, captured the incident on film.

From what we understand, it all started at the 35-second mark when the fifth-gen Camaro driver tried to squeeze in front of the truck from the right lane. Instead of just slowing down, the pickup accelerated and the two drivers started bickering on the road.

The Camaro driver tailgated the pickup, and the pickup driver responded by riding right next to the large truck on the right hand side blocking the other motorist's way. Moments later, the Chevy driver tried to overtake the pickup from the left shoulder but he / she lost control and the pickup crashed into it leading all three vehicles off the road.

Did you not see the car in front of the p/u? The a-hole was trying to squeeze in between that car and the p/u. Also, in what state is passing on the right legal?

Kewl. Hope the moron in the pickup truck learned not to piss people off on the highway.

Next time he might really get hurt.

I’ve noticed that sometimes if I use the passing lane for passing, then signal and get back in the right lane as soon as I can do so safely (always making sure I can see both left and right sides of whatever I passed in my center rear-view mirror), other people on the road will start to emulate me, even if they were sticking in the left lane before.

I have seen it happen a time or two.

Be warned by how many people will flame you (pun intended) for acknowledging that there is a price to pay for being an obnoxious, passive-aggressive pr!ck.

My feelings exactly. The correct way to drive is to stay in the right lane until you need to pass, then once you have passed get back in the right lane. We are becoming a country of jerks who camp in the middle and left lanes with no rhyme or reason for being there. If you find yourself driving in the passing lanes and the right lane is empty, and you do not move to the right, you my friend are a d-bag. In the last few years it is getting worse and worse. I find that if you stay in the right lane today it is clear sailing, it seems all the traffic is in the left lanes.

It’s surprising how people jump to conclusions. The PU was fine in the left lane when the incident started. He had a car in front of him and couldn’t go any faster.

The Camaro driver was drunk and drove like it. After the initial attempted cutoff, THEN the PU started messing with the guy on purpose. I don’t get the impression the PU would have held next to the truck under normal circumstances. So, not a left-lane vigilante, just taking advantage of his position to rub it in on the Camaro after that driver drove like an ass.

So, I give the Camaro 95% of the blame, the PU driver 5%. The Camaro should have taken his medicine, but then he was drunk on that non-dangerous alcohol stuff that doesn’t make one act violently.

The guy in the pickup was being a jack@ss.

As far as I know there are no laws against being a jackass......especially if you're driving the speed limit.

The Camaro driver is the reason I always carry a firearm in my vehicle........

If they back off I let them go by. If they try to intimidate me I stay the course.

Me too.........

People are getting weirder all the time, you never know. I just ease off and let them go. Not in the mood for a running feud down the interstate, personally. Just going from point A to point B and would rather be left alone as much as possible, so jerks get a pass from me. If their day comes and it probably will, I won’t be the cause of it.

I've noticed the same thing, not always of course, but like you, sometimes.

Nobody will defend the Camaro but many also hate the left lane vigilantes who think their job is to teach people the proper driving speed.

Was the Camaro impatient? Yeah, no doubt about that. But the pick up truck sped up so he couldn't get in and then deliberately blocked the Camaro's path for many miles.

In my opinion, I put the blame on the jerk driving the pick up. Why not just move over and let the guy go? The Camaro kept moving to the left, the universal signal that he wanted to pass, but the pick up truck guy was determined to intentionally mess with him. The trucker looks to be in on it too as he could have slowed down for 2 seconds and let the Camaro squeeze through. Really dumb.

Pick up in the left lane instigated this, but yeah, pretty stupid to pass on the lefy shoulder.

If you’re being passed on the right you need to move right. If there are open lanes you need to move right.
If you are going to pass someone you need to move left

It really isn’t difficult. If someone else is driving faster than you, get out of their way. For all we know they have a sick kid going to the hospital in the back seat.
