Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottboro, Alabama, sells lost stuff
Buys bags en masse from travel companies if they can't be returned
Discounts 20 to 80 per cent from items spanning dresses to iPads
It's a paradise for bargain-hunters - filled to the rafters with electronics, clothes, musical instruments and jewelry, sold with as much as 80 per cent of the value lopped off.
Inside, crowds of shoppers pore over the gear - some of it practically brand new - in the hope of giving the best finds a new home.
In an earlier life, all the items were checked onto planes, trains and buses, their real owners expecting to see them again a few hours later.

It's so Beautiful!
LOL!
I one bought a hardcase hugh piece of luggage (after 911 it was too big to pass guidelines). But I used it flying to Savannah, that airline basically destroyed it, I had to duct tape it for the trip home.
However, the airline replaced it with a brand new one. But as I said it was too bid for airlines now.
Donated to badattitudetowardsfreedomandexpression for “throwdowns”, chrome and gold plating to make award tropies for killing innocents and other setups.
The usual stuff.
Nothing to see here, move on please.
It might be there if you go and look, but probably someone has already purchased it because they lose their own!!!! ;-)
Being a long time Texan I have since retired and made my home here in Alabama. My wife’s daughters live in Scottsboro but we found us a little piece of heaven about 20 miles north in a little town called Stevenson. So if you don’t mind, add me to your Alabama ping list. Small town America is still very much alive and well.
My husband was the band director there, first at Stevenson High, which is now the middle school, and then at North Jackson up until 1993. Small world. I will be happy to add you to the ping list.
In fact, I worked for a time for Larry and Faye Glass at the North Jackson Progress.

Ever heard of Jonothan Batey? That is who we bought our property from where we live now.
Nope, I don’t think I have. I knew Pap Smith and bunches of other folks, but Batey is new to me. I’ll have to ask my husband.
Nope, hubby didn’t know him either. We moved in October 1995. I expect that lots have things have changed. They were still making 72 a four-lane when we left.
Jonothan would have just been a small child back in 95. He is now a local talent and plays some prety good music, look him up on you tube.
I live in Scottsboro and Birmingham. Have been to unclaimed baggage almost daily for 35. Years. Great values on many items.
This is a one of a kind business... more Auburn shoppers than University of Alabama.
