Mathematics: The Beautiful Language of the Universe

Sir Isaac Newton...came to the realization that the math that had been used thus far to describe physical motion of massive bodies, simply would not suffice... Newton developed the Calculus in which this way of approaching moving bodies, he was able to accurately model the motion of not only Halley’s comet, but also any other heavenly body that moved across the sky.

...

Newton recognized that Kepler’s mathematical equation for planetary motion, Kepler’s 3rd Law ( P2=A3 ), was purely based on empirical observation, and was only meant to measure what we observed within our solar system. Newton’s mathematical brilliance was in realizing that this basic equation could be made universal by applying a gravitational constant to the equation, in which gave birth to perhaps one of the most important equations to ever be derived by mankind; Newton’s Version of Kepler’s Third Law.

...

....

All at once, the motions of planets and other objects that orbit the sun became more accurately measurable, and thus we gained the ability to understand the universe a little deeper. Referring back to Netwon’s Version of Kepler’s Third Law, we were now able to apply (and still do) this incredible physics equation to almost anything that is orbiting something else. From this equation, we can determine the mass of either of the objects, the distance apart they are from each other, the force of gravity that is exerted between the two, and other physical qualities built from these simple calculations.

With his understanding of mathematics, Newton was able to derive the aforementioned gravitational constant for all objects in the universe ( G = 6.672×10-11 N m2 kg-2 ). This constant allowed him to unify astronomy and physics which then permitted predictions about how things moved in the universe.

And yet unlike globule warming it is not consider settled science by all.

Newton’s mathematical brilliance was in realizing that this basic equation could be made universal by applying a gravitational constant to the equation, in which gave birth to perhaps one of the most important equations to ever be derived by mankind; Newton’s Version of Kepler’s Third Law.

This not how Newton worked. He followed the form of Euclid, and considered that Kepler's Laws were an empirical fact, and showed that this motion REQUIRED a central force law, which was in fact the Law of Universal Gravitation.

However, he never named or discussed a Gravitational Constant. Instead he worked his way towards PROPOSITION VII. THEOREM VII: "That there is a power of gravity pertaining to all bodies, proportional to the several quantities of matter which they contain."

He then uses this proportionality to compare various gravitational systems, and derive the ratio of the masses of the central bodies.

Say, Bill, do you see anything when you rub your eyes at night?

I see lightning-like sparks. I'm hoping it's just random firing of optic nerves and not some weird supervillain about to kidnap me, unless it's one of those sexy Hollywood supervillains who want to...uh, wait, what were we talking about?

I like to call that Newton’s splat law, it is not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop at the end of the fall. SPLAT.

Well if X=0, Y=0, And Z=0. In the binary world that would mean anything else is 1. If you postulate that opposite of democrat is republican, then republicans would be binary number 11, which is more, but also shows advancement from 0. 0 also represents stagnation. Yep, they are 0’s.

Darn those beers I read the equation wrong, will have to crunch out the numbers on that big time now.

I usually cite mathematics as evidence for God, in that the universe (at least as we perceive it) requires sequencing of fields and particles, that even here, billions of years later, has us looking back at that sequencing through the concept of number with remarkable understanding and derivative predictive power.

I see those, too, right before the wavy geometric patterns.

Methinks what you're seeing are phosphines, I've seen them since I was a pup without even pressing on my eyes. While a number of possible causes have been reported, I believe you are looking at a visual representation of electrical signals generated by the optic nerves. Also known as eyelid movies.

I really appreciate and admire mathematicians and physics scholars. Their knowledge is beyond my comprehension.

However, since a kid I've always wondered what was behind the Universe and how it started. While the Doppler affect with red-shift tells us the galaxies are moving apart, and therefore they must have originally been at one spot if you reverse the flow. I'm still wondering what caused what is now called the Singularity - the ultra mass that exploded into the big bang.

Personally, I don't believe math equations or physics theories will ever explain how that came to be. It's simply beyond our comprehension. I believe there is something beyond our underdeveloped human brain to understand.

My only hope is that during the growth of the human mind from birth is that a conscienceness joins the what is driving this Universe.

You don’t have to explain Newton or Einstein physics to show that you are intelligent.

Just list a series of prime numbers (1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19 etc.). That list is just as valid here as across the universe, or as moving from the earth at the speed of light. It deals with real integers, base 10, but could be binary or octal or base 17.

On the other hand, Newton/Einstein still boggles the mind.

Actually Newton was much smarter than that....He did not postulate that F=ma. That is the way it gets used in beginning physics. The truth is much deeper than that. Newton postulated that force is equal to momentum
