What is so hard about building a border fence? It's just like building a highway. BUILD ONE.

Put a 10% tax on wire transfers to Mexico to fund construction. Reduce the tax to 2% to pay for maintenance when the wall is complete.

Remember what we learned from Obamacare - a program with a dedicated funding source can’t be repealed through the annual appropriations process.

The The Secure Fence Act of 2006 authorized 650-700 miles of border fence to be built. But it never was.

Although it may take a while to finish a fence we can set up mine fields on our side of the border while we build the fence. It’ll give us breathing room and force everyone to go through monitored and controlled border crossings rather than letting everyone through.

America isn’t the same country it was all those years ago.

Yeah, because those tens of millions of third world immigrants changed it. One of the main reasons we "can't" build a fence is because there are so many millions of Hispanics here now who would be "offended" and scream racism. The problem that they caused is now the very reason we can't end it.

“Let’s have a contest. The FReeper who submits the best design wins!!”

I think it should somehow involve corridors and rotating knives:

Mr. Wiggin: This is a 12-story block combining classical neo-Georgian features with the efficiency of modern techniques. The tenants arrive here and are carried along the corridor on a conveyor belt in extreme comfort, past murals depicting Mediterranean scenes, towards the rotating knives. The last twenty feet of the corridor are heavily soundproofed. The blood pours down these chutes and the mangled flesh slurps into these...

Client 1: Excuse me.

Mr. Wiggin: Yes?

Client 1: Did you say ‘knives’?

Mr. Wiggin: Rotating knives, yes.

Client 2: Do I take it that you are proposing to slaughter our tenants?

Mr. Wiggin: ...Does that not fit in with your plans?

Client 1: Not really. We asked for a simple block of flats.

Mr. Wiggin: Oh. I hadn’t fully divined your attitude towards the tenants. You see I mainly design slaughter houses.

You’re going about this all wrong.

All we need to do is put up a six foot Chain Link Fence and hang The Battle Flag of the Northern Virginia Democrat Confederates on it facing Mexico.

I’m sure with the Fear and Loathing the Flag has received, the Mexicans will be too afraid to touch it on the way in.

Rick Perry, is that you?

You're missing my point. I'm not against building a fence. I'm in favor of building it AND having it backed by a mine field, and troops with orders to open fire on invaders.

Of course a wall could easily be built, and illegals currently hiding in America could be more easily rounded up and returned where they belong than the expense and effort so far to enslave Americans with ObamaCare.
The political elites don't want a wall to protect American citizens from the crimes and tax supported pubic services burden of the illegal aliens, and the elites refuse to be honest about the reason.

My biggest concern is the river, I have friends and family who have ranches with river front access. They’re livestock use that river daily and any fence would restrict that. My suggestion would be to put troops on the border, I can’t think of a better place for training young recruit’s and get a double benefit from it. On the ground, in the water, in the air, all movement across that border could be shut down except through ports of entry.
