Later down the article:

(continues) "In addition to the fringe element of the Republican Party (or is it?), Democrats are The Donald's most enthusiastic fans. The only thing that could be better for the Dems at this point would be for Trump to tap former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. Palin, who almost single-handedly destroyed Sen. John McCain's bid for the presidency in 2008."...

I just had to post this.

This is a true, dream ticket.

Truly.

“If a newbie on the political scene were to see Trump in action, it would be easy to conclude he’s working for the Democrats.”

If that was true, this writer would be smug and not complain. Normally, when people see their enemies destroy themselves, they don’t intervene.

And that may well be in the cards. I was a strong supporter of Palin back in the day.

But this Jamestown Sun rag is about as low as anyone can go- are they trying to compete with the NY Times or something?

Well that's an outrageous lie. She almost saved it.

In politics demographics is destiny.

The author of this snotty piece is relying on the new reality of the new age of American demographics. It is not just that conservatism is losing the war on the issues it is more that conservatism is losing the body count. I have posted that we as informed and enthusiastic conservatives must be mindful that we tend to live in a bubble. Our friends tend to be conservative and those with whom we exchange political views tend to be conservative.

In a sense we are a subset of a subset of a subset not only demographically by race, class etc. but we are a subset of a subset of a subset based on political ideology. Regrettably, we do not control the Republican Party, we do not even control the Tea Party. The author smugly relies on his view of the racial breakdown of America which gives me another excuse to invoke Nathan's first maxim of American politics:

all politics in America is not local but ultimately racial

Despite all of these realities, I still insist that the way to win elections is Reagan's way: do not try to enlarge the tent by watering down the message try to fill the tent by attracting people to our timeless conservative message.

At this stage in the primary season, Donald Trump is doing just that. The time will undoubtedly come when Trump becomes a very great liability because of demographic realities but we are not there yet.

There is yet another consideration: the Republican establishment has so forfeited its claim on any red-blooded conservative that it matters little now whether we elect a Rino or a Democrat. It matters whether we elect a Ted Cruz or a Scott Walker but it does not matter if we elect a Bush or a Christie. Therefore, Trump is rendering yes another service in separating the flock, in separating the sheep from the goats, the rinos from the conservatives.

Let the primary season continue in robust debate, we conservatives have very little to lose from a political point of view while the Republic has everything to lose.

FWIW, heard Glenn Beck on the radio a couple days ago.

He thinks Trump is a flake.

When Beck thinks you’re a flake, it’s probably a good idea to realize you just might be a flake.

Not that we can’t do worse, and probably will.

I think that piece is - presumably unintentionally - hilarious. Wise-assed sneering punctuated with stuff like the stentorian ...credible candidates like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush…

What a hoot. "You're killing me, Smalls!"

It's five pounds of college dorm quality putdowns in a one pound sack, so empty-headedly partisan that it comes close to being parody. "Coffee house profundity" is alive and well up there on the NoDak/Minn prairie, and the gang is doing their farm team best, bless their hearts.

I think Trump has too many left-leaning views for Sarah. He is probably what the center of the Democratic party looked like in 1965 or so. Democrats have been pushed leftward by something Saul Alinsky created called fusion parties.

Wiki’s definition is wrong. So here’s mine. Saul would run a communist against the Dem and Rep. But if the Dem adopted the communist candidate’s positions then he’d blow the “dog whistle” to let the communists know it was time to vote for the Democrat. Most local elections can be swung by just a handful of votes, so if the communist party has 100 local members they can control who wins. That’s how the communists pushed the Democrats to the left.

My definition is from Saul’s book, which he originally dedicated to Satan.

Only if one has a turd for a brain. And why should a journOlist give a hoot whether the Rs get screwed up? If you REALLY believed that, you’d be applauding.

CNN: This is a true, dream ticket.

You betcha! I'd definitely take that bet.

If I wanted to wake up and rowdy the "Silent Majority", that's the ticket to do it.

Just put them on a well planned whistle stop tour and then get out of the way when the wave breaks on election day.
