My distaste for Trump is well documented at this point, but when I read this evening about Hugh Hewitts interview of Donald Trump, I was struck by how terrible Hewitts whole line of questioning is.
Hewitt who gave Harriet Miers a solid B+ and thought that was good enough has essentially declared that Al Gore would have been a better President than George Bush. Thats how incompetent the establishments favorite radio host is at criticizing Donald Trump.
Remember the gotcha games they played with George W. Bush? And how Al Gore was supposedly to be a better President because he allegedly could have named Aslan Maskhadov, then-President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria? Now Hugh Hewitt is playing the role of Andy Hiller.
Then-Governor Bush had it exactly right, after getting Hiller to admit that he could not name the Foreign Minister of Mexico, either: What Im suggesting to you is, if you cant name the foreign minister of Mexico, therefore, you know, youre not capable about what you do. But the truth of the matter is you are, whether you can or not.
It turns out Bush was a better President than Gore would have been, regardless of whether he could name Maria del Rosario Green Macias for the Daily Double, as she was then the Secretary of Foreign Affairs for then-President Ernesto Zedillo of Mexico. Oh, by the way, she was due to leave office after Bush won, but before Bush was inaugurated, a fact that seemed to escape the attentions of both Gore and Hiller. Zedillos term was ending November 2000, and so his Foreign Ministers name would never matter to a President Bush.
And thats precisely the point Trump made to Hewitt: playing Quiz Bowl now isnt going to matter when the specific names involved are going to be changing from now to January 2017. And its true: spending a week learning a bunch of Arabic and Farsi names would not make him a better President, than he would be right now. Whether you like him or not, thats the fact.
Im not sure the establishment is capable of stopping Trump. Its no wonder Jeb Bush is falling apart in the polls. If this is what they think is a heavy hitting attack on Donald Trump, they dont even have a clue anymore. Theyre completely out of touch with how we used to win elections.
Dont buy products advertized on Hugh Hewitts show.
He needs to be unemployed.
He can wash dishes.

Reince Preibus puts himself to sleep each night with this new version of Sonnet #43: “Donald Trump, how do I hate thee, Let me count the ways; I hate thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach..I...”
I think Donald Trump was being kind by calling Hugh Hewitt a “third rate” talk show host. ;-)
This is REDSTATE on steroids trying to retrieve their friends and revenue that Eric blew off in one gas bag performance to ban and dis-invite the next President of the United States from his little annual weinies and peas conflab in wherever, Georgia.
This is the second writer in 24 hours to write a favorable or otherwise defense opus for Trump. Amazing that a wave of Trump supporters together can cause an acid stomach, and plenty of regret. Bicarbonate anyone?
I don’t care if Trump knows every goat-lover’s name or not. My question for the hysterical anti-Trump wusses across the land: is Trump also supposed to know the names of all the goats, too?
There is such a disconnect, a lack of understanding what the Trump phenomenon is about, that the critics have let their rage color their actions. Hewitt’s game yesterday was so transparent, so reminiscent of the junk pulled on Bush 43 in 2000, that he failed to realize he looked foolish. Then to double down, he uses Fiorina, who is a bit wonkish anyway to try to show Trump is lacking. And believe me the way Hewitt is talking today, he is going down the path of Megyn Kelly, losing listeners left and right. When KRLA got Levin live, Hewitt was relegated to tape delay, that had to hurt, and now he may be relegated to tape delay at midnight if he doesn’t get a little fresh air and an understanding of the bigger picture.
Just stop listening as I did long ago.
Hugh Hewitt is a professor at a California law school....last time I looked a few years ago. He won’t be washing dishes. He has enough money to live in a 95% white community far from any fallout from open borders. (but I don’t know where he lives)
Savage sliced and diced Hewitt today, calling him a wannabe talk show host.
Isn’t Hewitt “supposed to be” a conservative?
There are many times I disagree with Hewitt but he did render a service here and in that show he played two interviews back to back
Hewitt asked Florina those same questions. Now she never heard Trumps answers because they were taped in different segments and she came through with flying colors . I might be a fan of hers because shes making noise but not a supporter I cant even spell her name correctly.
I just wish supporters would keep an open mind on their committment to their candidates in these early stages of the campaign. And to their positions and solutions they offer
Starting to not trust anyone in the conservative movement. I do like some people, but most I think have less than honorable motives. I don’t trust Fox News, that is a given, I don’t trust various personalities and I am harbor skepticism about 14 candidates running for POTUS as Republicans and nearly as politicians in congress and various governors. I believe Ann Barnhart is right to hate all politicians and all media. I think there are a lot of frauds out there who passed off as tea party to make a buck.
Hewitt is no conservative - he even wants more illegal aliens.

:)
That's easy when you are given the questions in advance.
The Splitters are doing the heavy lifting for ¡Jeb! and the GOPe. Anyone polling below 5% should just drop out.
They’re holding on to the bitter end, for their Right to Rise PAC checks.
The same can't be said for Hewlett Packard.
